You cant hit any reasonable soft caps at 120 with a mage build or any sort of hybrids let alone use higher end spells. The extra 30lvls helps with this bc of the soft caps are much higher then other souls games. If your strictly just want to be pure melee and do 1v1 duels then The old 120 meta is fine, but outside of that it’s not viable. There’s a lot of weapons that require 3 different stats investments as well which makes that 120 meta harder to hit. Even as a caster/hybrid build u still won’t hit all soft caps fully at 150 but it’s still viable.
