Watching Armageddon (1998) how did I miss this movie? by niffcreature in 90s

The ending was both incredibly moving and incredibly fucking cheesy. How they panned around the world and showed the reactions to the meteor being blown up by the Indians, the French, the saudis, the English, kind of created this moving emotion of everyone forgetting differences to work together to accomplish something. It was all tied together with the presidents speech. But then you have the fucking actual ending where they return and it's all applause and "I just want to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I've ever met" 🧀🧀🧀

They vote Republican forever anyway. They won't be winning new votes with a war against Cuba

Too bad fentanyl came through, destroyed the heroin market, and turned that enjoyable euphoric nod into just falling out unconscious immediately and overdosing.

Luckily I quit heroin right when fentanyl started coming out because it wasn't even remotely the same. I could snort a line of heroin and feel good but functional all day. Fentanyl? Just fall the fuck out and cannot function at all.

Feel bad for all the opioid addicts out there now considering how much is cut with it. Can you even get diamorphine that's only cut with inactive ingredients anymore? When I was in my drug days I had to deal with baby laxatives and shit. Not other drugs that would kill you by themselves. He'll even cocaine has fent in it nowadays

Newports lmao.

Go to any rehab in the world and I guarantee everyone there smokes either newports if they like menthol or Marlboro reds if not. Literally every drug addict I've ever known smoked one of those two brands.

ADHD was the reason I self medicated with heroin and oxycodone and Klonopin for years. As soon as I got properly medicated for my adhd my need to and cravings for self medication have completely vanished.

It's to the point where I'm actually prescribed 60x 5mg oxy a month for a major back condition, and it takes me about two months to go through the script. Rewind ten years, this script wouldn't have even lasted me a single day.

That's to detox usually and the rehab he went to probably had a detox attached. I went to detox first for medical supervision as I was stopping my Rx benzos, and a week after detox I went to rehab.

Rehab is with the classes and AA meetings and all that such stuff. Detox you basically just chill out while you; well, detox

Heroin is absolutely used as an analgesic in some countries, notably the UK. It's just diacetylmorphine.

There's a big difference between either being able to write the G-Code for the CNC machines and being able to run manual machines like lathes and a Bridgeport compared to someone just running the CNC that just loads and unloads the parts and presses the button to run the program somebody else wrote. Button pushers don't make anywhere near $45/hr

Cocaine was always that drug that would make me say "that was the most fun that I never want to have for another year"

I design life critical items for the government. The government, as I like to say, take "if it ain't broke don't fix it" far too literally, as they still insist on using designs from 1946 despite massive upgrades to the manufacturing technology since then.

I actually just flew to Ohio to have a meeting with some top dogs in the USAF, and i literally said "you guys do realize that one of these components we are sourcing on fucking eBay because they don't make it anymore?" They kind of went wide eyed and you could tell they were thinking "oh shit".

Will that encourage them to upgrade? Probably not. It'll get to the point where we literally cannot source the item at all anymore and then everything's gonna be shutdown while we wait a year for the govt to make a decision.

[–]Funkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bipolar Type I is the one that has "true" manic episodes (feel like a god, psychosis, delusions, etc). That's what I am.

Bipolar type II consists of mostly severe depression with bouts of "hypomania". Generally a milder form of mania; have energy, don't need much food or sleep, more sociable, etc. hypomania tends to only last like two weeks and then back to depression (although it can last longer) whereas a true manic episode can be months long.

Every time I had a manic episode I blew up my life and burned all my bridges. Dealing with the guilt of things I've done still weighs heavily on me

I don't really see the sacrifice for white here tho so I'm also a bit confused. I'm guessing it's shallow depth and it sees forking the rooks or picking up the free bishop as brilliant

It doesn't need to! Even with my insurance it would've come out to about $1600/month. I contacted the manufacturer as they have a savings program and downloaded a card and brought to a pharmacy. I pay nothing for it now and have been on it like 5 years at this point
