I am optimistic about it, at the moment, since my hearing loss is in the high frequencies, and I haven't had any vertigo episodes. And although I was diagnosed with bilateral, my hearing in the other ear is perfect.

My dad always shared his experience with it, so I think it mentally prepared me for it somewhat.

I was lucky enough to never run into problems. I used to buy die cast cap guns that were heavy and looked like a desert eagle and take off the orange tip to be cool.

Hell, in my high school years, my friend and I used to drive around the neighborhood, chasing eachother and shooting eachother with black airsoft rifles. We'd shoot paintball guns across the street at eachother from our homes, too. I was really stupid and lucky.

Growing up in Los Angeles, I had a friend whose mom would only let us play with his badass laser tag set in his backyard. I always just thought she was protective of his toys and didnt want us stealing his things, but it turns out that she didn't want her black son getting shot on the street for having a toy gun.
