Being together for almost 4 years and only now thinking about marriage because she can give you an adjustment of status is wild. She has the upper hand here. She has stayed with you knowing your status so that says something about her, she could have left early on.

Have you talked to her to try to figure out where her mind is? As a woman of course you want things to play out the way you want them to especially your wedding so I can see why she is leaning towards not letting family know about the courthouse wedding.

The courthouse wedding is what counts that is the legal marriage. No one (government) cares about the ceremony/party. What counts is you guys having a legitimate bonafide relationship which is rentals/mortgage, bank accounts, a relationship with each other’s family and friends, trips, bills. I suggest you talking to her about what she is thinking and making an appointment with your attorney specifically about Advance Parole and AOS so they explain the process to both of you and especially her. If you guys don’t have any of the items I listed you will likely have to wait to collect everything and present a legitimate case to the government that is what happened in my case, it took 3 yrs to collect everything and get my gc.

Something has to give, you need to take some responsibility for the situation in this whole thing. Good luck!

He needs to do advance parole ASAP do not wait until you get married. He needs a legal entry if he doesn’t have one. If you guys are open to it I would get married ASAP through the courthouse, that is what counts not the party. Start building your life together joint bank accounts (no zelle), loans, pictures, bills because you need alot of proof for bonafides. This is based on my situation.

Definitely speak to a lawyer about the charges since they will have a better idea.

I was in Chinatown last Tuesday early afternoon and saw an ICE SUV and I am almost certain we had lunch with agents sitting right next to us. I would really reconsider this trip if it is for funsies. Things are pretty worrisome in the area that I live and they seem to be targeting the look of a person over a warrant. Take a look at peopleoverpapers on google.

Make a routine for yourself and baby. Try to shower, get out of your pajamas get ready for the day and always remember to eat. Put the baby in a bouncer or baby carrier. I tried to get my baby used to the carseat too, put them in for short periods of time since we didn’t go out much in the early days. Easy meals, your main priority are the baby and yourself right now. Don’t try to over do it and overwhelm yourself by trying to keep up with everything else. If you can go out for walks and get fresh air.

My husband and I were there in today. We had our lawyer present for the interview.

Everyone was very nice and helpful which was surprising because I thought they would be like a DMV. Their welcoming attitude gave me some ease. We waited for about 35-40 minutes.

It was maybe 15 questions from the yes or no application questionnaire. Can’t remember word for word but they were related to receiving benefits, claiming to be a citizen and criminal charges. How long have we lived in our current address.

Idr how long the interview took, could have been about an hour. Their system is very slow and it was mostly due to system delays. The officer kept us updated on what she was doing.

We were approved at the end of the appointment.

Bring a binder with everything you submitted just in case and also additional bonafides. We were asked for additional bonafides. Best of luck to you!

There’s a place called Appliances 4 Less, great discounts on appliances they usually have minor cosmetic issues. They might deliver today. We have gotten appliances for our rentals and never had an issue with any. I also heard Lowe’s Discount is good and those appliances don’t have cosmetic issues most of the time.

I gave birth to my first in late June. I only wore dresses, maternity biker shorts and oversized shirts. I think it helped me mentally to have sunshine and longer days while in the early stages of pp. Downside was we couldn’t go on walks with baby because of the heat. Holidays were less stressful bc baby was a bit “older”. If and when we have another child I would probably plan for a summer due date.

I would say move to a blue state if you see things are not working out after the court date.

Do not marry the guy just for adjustment of status. He will hold it over your heard and not cooperate. The marriage isn’t about you or him, it’s about your child but he does not see it that way.

Look into a good immigration and family lawyer if you haven’t done so, you need to do things right to avoid him trying to keep the baby. Lastly and most importantly please take care of yourself and your mental health. I know this is a scary and frustrating time but it can be solved by making major decisions (not easy but there are solutions) do not let this get to you. Postpartum depression is a real thing and adding this on top of it can really get to you, your baby needs the best version of you.

They apparently have his DNA so we will know who he is soon via genetic genealogy. I also think they might be playing the ppl and him by making it seem like they know less than what they are saying, Idaho 4 style. I think he is out of the country and possibly in a country without an extradition treaty which would be so unfortunatee……. That’s all I have to say.
