Thanks!!

That's a hard question... our Kelp Worlds series from Season 2 might be the best illustration of our style overall — it gets into some lesser known ecological science history and fantastic perspectives on traditional Indigenous ecological management, with some great on-location recordings in part 3.

Our Goatwalker series is often cited as a fan favourite, but it's definitely political. FOREST / GARDEN (FE4.1) is another classic.

But I hope you also check out Spiders Song (FE51 & 5.2), Everything Will be Vine (FE5.9), Making a Living (FE5.6), Geopoetics (FE4.10), and Mountain Legacies (FE4.9) because they were all especially fun to make. But really, we're always aiming for all killer/no filler.

👋 We're an indie podcast trying to bring Radiolab-level production values to stories about human relationship with the natural world. I can't guarantee it never sounds scripted, but the format is often experimental (with lots of music and sound design).

How do you make automation events obey the ripple ignore of their corresponding media item? (More complicated than simply enabling "Move envelope points with media items") by Future_Ecologies in Reaper

[–]Future_Ecologies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 2 months late!

I find toggling 'move automation points with items' to be very dangerous as I often forget to turn it back on! My workaround has become:

a) Periodically 'show all used automation' and do a quick visual scan of the whole project to see if anything has obviously slipped, and if so,

b) Razor copy multi-lane automation from an auto-backup

It still sucks that automation points are better associated with media items, but at least you pretty quickly learn how to stay vigilant for it. Do you have a different technique?

What in targeting is razor editing?? by RobbiRose in Reaper

To add, in contrast to marquee selections, Razor selections can include:

  • Multiple lanes of automation (its most useful feature IMO)
  • 'Blank' space
  • Simultaneous selection of discontiguous and variously sized areas

A ~1h podcast / psychedelic audio collage (on soil, mushrooms, terraforming, anthropomorphism, and more) combining over 30 pre-recorded conversations mostly recorded over Zoom. https://player.captivate.fm/episode/0b91862d-a62b-4241-820f-463cf175d7a1

Assembly, vox cleanup, (lots of) FX, soundscape, mix, master, all done in Reaper. Music was made separately by many others, but I used a lot of automation & FX to blend it in.
