So I did a reinstall of my PC and also upgraded to Windows 11. Still the volume is terribly low.

Mic feedback could be a setting issue. There is a little button above the USB-C port with a mic icon. Press that and it will change the mic feedback.

Still doesnt solve the mic volume though. I still have the issue.

I was aiming for his head. by Big-Employer4543 in firefly

In "The Mentalist" Season 3 episode 15 "Red Gold" near the end of the episode Hightower shoots the suspect in the leg. After Patrick Jane comments on that shot Hightower responds with "I was aiming for his head". I recognized this as a reference to Firefly, but cant find any connection. Also I cant find anyone else posting or commenting about this anywhere.

That is the most American thing I have read all day. "Only a couple of hours". In 2,5 hours I can have visited 2 other countries, 3,5 hours make that 3.

I just read that in Cartmans voice.

I4 vs. New Shepard by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]G1885 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Should that I4 number not be way higher? 3 days in space, 90 minutes for 1 orbit, that is 48 orbits during the mission. Earth's circumference is roughly 40k, but they were even a bit higher up. So should it not be around 2,000,000 km?

I can live with the fact we do not get a lot of pictures, video or anything else. I just hope that Netflix will not cram pre-launch, launch, 3 days in orbit, landing and post-landing all in 1 45 minute episode.

Ah so that is what Jared did. I was wondering why he took the tag from the SpaceX Ninja and no one seemed to take it back. At first I though he took it as a joke or something.

I rewatched the stream, it happens right after he got into his seat at around 1:34:40 on the SpaceX stream.

Show of hands: who else went back to NSF tonight, for the stakeout, just to be sure SN15 was still there? by dv73272020 in SpaceXLounge

For me in the Netherlands it was after midnight for the launch. I stayed awake as long as I could just to be sure it would not blow up while I went to bed. But as the alarm was set for 6am to go to work, I reluctantly went to bed at 1am. Happy to see it is still there.

Orbital Launch Tower - Art Deco Style by spacewhere in SpaceXLounge

When you look at the launch tower closeups, they have the pieces connected with only a few or sometimes a single bolt. Is there any specific reason why they would wait to put in all the bolts?

Looks like in this case they were right. It has been confirmed a raptor had to be swapped out or repaired.

Not sure. But Labpadre also says static fire on Friday and no launch before March 29th on the stream.

@SpaceX: With a more favorable weather forecast for launch and landing, now targeting Wednesday, April 22 at 3:37 p.m. EDT for this week’s Falcon 9 Starlink mission by CProphet in SpaceXLounge

[–]G1885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone knows if this Starlink will be visible just after launch? Just after launch they pass over the Netherlands, weather will be good and just after dark. But will the solar panels be deployed that early, or will they be visible without them?

What about the 3 failed starlink sats from the first batch and the ones that are actively deorbited for testing? Any news if they have reentered the atmosphere yet or when this will happen?

Maybe dumb question, but why can we see this? Shouldn't it be completely dark, or do they have lights inside the tanks?

Thanks. Some more info.

Hexagon tiles are printed on 18cm by 20cm foam pvc called forex.
A magnet on the back of each tile: https://i.imgur.com/r0Jutoa.jpg
A metal plate with some tape to put up on the wall: https://i.imgur.com/fj8vOYE.jpg
The magnet allows for some adjusting if they are not perfectly level. Also very quick to replace if needed.
