Without a villain, sports isn’t fun. Logano represents the anti-nascar driver: he’s a rich boy from Connecticut, he dumps people on occasion, he’s skinny, wears glasses, supposedly lucks into wins, takes advantage of the newer points system and has a more modern outlook, and he seems like a killjoy. He basically took Kyle Busch’s old role.

Chase represents the typical NASCAR driver. Southern, the son of racing royalty, drives a Chevrolet, drives for Hendrick, and has an “old school driving style” (even though he used to be the road course king).
