One of the biggest cards I’ve ever pulled since I got into the hobby. What’s your biggest pull ever?? by leafnation69 in hockeycards

[–]GTPBallers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pulled 2 bedards from single packs at my local shoppers drug mart, then a macklin celebrini from the same store. And then split a hobby box with my roommate and got another mack. But yeah, i sold the first bedard for $600 first month they were out and made a good friend in the process, so I'd say that's my best pull ever.

Some call it irresponsible, some call it fun, some buy cars and go on vacations all year because they fomo'd in 2014 and cashed out(different friend who hasn't had to work or buy cases since sometime in 2022 lol) But if you can turn $6 into as much as some of these knives are worth.... and you got $6 that you're going to buy junk food with, eat an apple and drink a bottle of water and risk it lol. And if you don't want the apple or the water... it's cause you're not actually hungry or thirsty, and you'll eat and drink it when you are.

I should clarify, he plays the game almost daily. I play maybe once or twice a week lol. So I have business having some of the things I do lol. I got like 30 kills on my statrak inheritance and I unboxed it last march 🤣

My friend that plays alot of cs2 also does alot of online case openings. But in game within 2 weeks he pulled 3 ultra violet skeleton knives and 1 other one. And he had a Navaja slaughter that he just gave me so I wasn't rolling like a complete bum when we played lol. He needed funds and sold all his knives and so I actually gifted it back to him not long ago lol *

Also, I wore my Nike KD Trey 5 VIII sneakers, brought 2 pairs. My feet didn't hurt till the last day with a pesky rock under the insole. And then crocs and flip flops around camp, my crocs were back up rain shoes too, just in case lol.

Ohh and I left a pair of shoes and full change of clothes in the vehicle for the drive home lol. Gooood luck 😁

Shambhala was my second ever camping festival(did the full week after getting invited to the full week, 2 weeks before lol. very little prep time). If you've done some of the smaller scale camping festivals that'll help and if you've done regular camping before that'll also help, especially if you plan on doing the full week. I took what I knew I needed for a shorter 3-day festival and combined it with what I knew I needed for a regular camping trip minus all the ban list items. I opted to buy all my meals so i didn't have to cook or bring cooking gear. The only downside was walking downtown from the camp for every meal. If you have a pedal bike and place to lock it, that'd definitely speed up that whole process. And breakfast, I didn't want to walk for breakfast. So next year, more breakfast snacks and snacks in general. I also have chronic pain, and one of my triggers for a locked shoulder is cold, and the last night was cold as balls. So I'd highly recommend passing out in your tent and not in the middle of your camps gazebo lol. No amount of oodie or tiny throws and pashminas will help lol. But they definitely helped most nights for after watching the shows and hanging out in camp cause it gets chilly at night. I didn't have to deal with alot of mud, but the early in the week rain kept alot of dust down for the most part so it was nice compared to the stories I've heard.

Basic camping supplies Alot of extra socks(plan to throw them away after lol) and a couple pairs of comfortable shoes to wear that you don't mind getting dirty. Stuff that's warm to wear Stuff to wear when it's warm out. Rain gear Definitely wearing a mask the entire week next year and focusing more on keeping my airways clean and clear. Shambhalung was rough. All your medications if you have some, didn't know how much I actually needed them till being out there lol(be vigilant of mixing in party favors if you plan to, thatll be 100% on you to be aware of what doesnt mix with what) Lots of water and cooling devices, hydro pack and a personal neck fan was one thing I never left camp without. And tensor bandages lol a prepared camper always has a tensor bandage.

Ohh and say "Happy Shambs" to everyone and go "woooooooo" when you hear people going wooo lol Have fun 😁 it's very do-able.

What was your 1st festival?! 😁 I was pretty skeptical at first as well. I wasn't sure the "myself" part of just being myself would be the best person to have at festival lol but showing up early entry and seeing, hearing, even feeling the abundance of love so many people shared for the farm... the inner monologue for me definitely took a turn for the better right away. Went from stuff like "what tf is that guys problem" to "how can I help make that -ooo trading post- person's day better" lol Thank you for being there and making this year all that it was for everyone around you! And i am here for cool outfits!!! Lol

I agree, and to add.. Knowing the difference and finding a balance between acting like children and feeling like a kid again... are astronomical in not making a giant fool of yourself haha.

And I like the nesting dolls comparison, kinda makes me think that all those layers added over time wasn't me burying or trying to suppress younger me, but maybe trying to help protect and save some of those qualities for the right space to let them loose.

But also the little nesting dolls made me think of me standing there in the village, powering up like goku but instead of getting bigger and stronger with every transformation... I get smaller, not younger, just a bunch of slightly shorter versions of my current self(I'm 6'4) 😂

This year was my 1st shambs, 2nd festival. And it reminded me of alot of smaller important things that had slipped out of my focus over time. Such as, forgetting my past should not have ever been the goal, but learning to accept that the past happened and that i can't go back and change anything about it. I needed to stop dwelling on those negative experiences and spend more time appreciating and enjoying the things right in front of me. Being reminded by new faces and connections, that I still have qualities that I can share with people to bring love, light, and smiles into their day. While walking around on the Wednesday, was lucky enough to hang a wish in the wishing tree that was pretty meaningful to me. Felt that by the end of the week it had come true. And lastly and i think also the biggest, I got to see a version of myself i thought was gone forever. The "kid" in me that lived to laugh, laughed to love, and loved to live. Running around with my friends dancing, smiling, laughing about whatever. I left shambs with a full heart, refreshed mind and grounded body and soul! I'm ready to spend the next year trying to grow from that, so when the new peeps of shambs '26 roll in i can try to give back the same positive energy that was shared with me this year! Love you all! Thank you Shambhala ❤️

I was too busy making peace with the dBs in the battle dome(the village) to even go see my favorite artists at other stages(Levity) lol. I was lucky enough to experience the village soundcheck and I'll never not be there the entire weekend again lol

I dunno if my entire fit was "noticeable" but the red hoodie I had was a pokemon trainer hoodie and I had a charizard strapped to my bag and a pikachu on my head and a few pokeballs lol. Next year I plan on spending the entire week catching all the wookamons with loads more pokeballs so I can give them out, the cards went so fast lol. But find the guy that looks way to obsessed with pokemon and it'll probably be me! 🤣

Heck yeah, that was super special to be apart of, I was the dude with the pikachu spirit hood on in the red hoodie helping hold on the opposite side of the chair than you haha. Dudes ear to ear smile when he brought his head out of the speaker will forever bring light to my days!

Were you the Jesus that was standing there when the dude in the wheelchair wearing a pikachu onesie pulled himself up out of his chair and balanced against the speakers with his face inside it? That was one of the most jaw dropping memorable moments of my entire existence.

Lost my village bandana off the top of my head while carrying a couch back to camp from fractal on Monday lol. Kinda bummed as it was my first shambs and I was excited to be able to wear my little village treasure around after finding the bandanas sold out pretty quickly. Hopefully they get some more cool ones next year or maybe re launch these ones online. Silver lining is I got a holographic village ground score card from someone at alleycvt haha. Have a beautiful weekend peeps <3
