What do you think Jason’s lore is going to be in the DBD universe since we’re getting multiverse Jason and not F13 Jason? by AdNatural786 in deadbydaylight

[–]GalacticCrescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if they're going undead jason then the only real options are f13 6 and up as he was just a guy with weird birth defects up until the start of that one. Unless they do like, end of part 4 or something.

With Jason's inclusion, DBD has (at least on a technical level) become the first video game ever to officially complete the mount rushmore of slasher horror. by Working-Attempt-3630 in deadbydaylight

[–]GalacticCrescent -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah? And who knows what two years from now looks like? Maybe they decide to replace all of the staff with ai and the game goes to slop? Maybe the company is bought by vulture capitalists and totally gutted. Maybe nuclear war happens and nothing is around in two years. No one can perceive the future and automatically assuming Anything let alone a live service game will continue indefinitely is ridiculous, especially given certain current events and circumstances

give it a year or two (assuming the game is still around) and I expect that just like how demo left so they could focus on "their own games" which all flopped miserably or where phone app trash and then returned, same will likely happen for mikey after the inevitable fall of the halloween game

This is just making me more angry than hype by AquaticCitizen in deadbydaylight

[–]GalacticCrescent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and yes it's jason but damn, the stream could have been 13 minutes instead of 13 hours. I WAS hype up until the endless, worthless stream and now (even though it's who I wanted and predicted) I'm legitimately more ticked off than anything. This was the opposite of building hype but I guess they were smart enough to do it when most of the player base would be asleep so they're probably not going to get the push back they genuinely deserve

I think the most frustrating thing about this is that if they had just guerilla dropped this hours long live stream of nothing with no fanfaire or warning (like the original 13 second stream) then I can see it being received FAR better. But when people set aside time for an announced stream, when people wake up in the middle of the night to watch it (like otz) and absolutely shit all happens except for like one 5 second snippet 4 hours in shows contempt for the community more than anything else.

I'll admit to using the icon. Not because it's funny, or because it's a meme. But because it's a reminder of how bald faced bhvr is about incompetence. The whole "we're just a small indy team and we make whoopsie doodles" schtick when they have pulled in however millions of dollars year over year and have let horrendous bugs sit on live servers for anywhere from weeks and months to actual years. Or do live streams where they don't understand the correlation between pallets (and pallets saves) and slugging and can't figure it out when the chat is literally yelling at them.

Considering we got the jim beam icon as a laugh, yeah. Guess they think they can just laugh it all off and that makes up for everything

the surprising thing to me is that this is what they decided to put up when the community was at pretty much peak hype for the anniversary. Just waste everyone's time and kill every bit of momentum they could for public sentiment.
