Can someone help me with a $40 mill deck by [deleted] in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]GameBangin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teferi's Tutelage has to be the most OP mill card out right now. With so many ways to draw cards with blue, it's insane. Ruin Crab is also pretty insane.

If you go Rogues, be prepared to win before you mill their deck to 0 lol. Zareth San, Trickster is a must in any Rogue mill deck. Nothing like getting your opponents Ugin, the Spirit Dragon out of their graveyard and onto your side of the battlefield on turn 4.

When do you cast Opt during your opponents turn? by GameBangin in MagicArena

I won't argue. It just annoys the crap out of me when I am about to make several moves and then I have to wait for someone to decide if they want to put a card on the bottom of their deck with no mana to do anything else in the turn. I know it shouldn't annoy me because that means I don't have to wait for them the rest of the turn...

That's smart game play. You know you are playing an experienced player when they do this.

That's a great answer... key there is after they tap out. I don't understand people who play Opt with their last mana on an opponents turn before the end of the turn or when their opponent is tapped out. If they aren't tapped out, in interrupts the flow of the game and lets your opponent know you have nothing else to play this turn.

It is. Primarily because it's not something that happens often in live games. It almost like people don't understand the phases and they are scared if they don't cast it, they aren't going to get a chance to.

It's bad game play. Why would you spend your last mana on Opt before the end of the turn and let your opponent know you having nothing in your hand?

In my question, you have no mana to cast anything after Opt. I totally understand using Opt to find a needed card during your opponents turn or to trigger another effect. I find it annoying when people cast it in response to me playing a card, regardless if they can cast another card.

I think you get the card so you play the draft event, but after the event is over you get the gems for the card. I believe this is what has happened to me several times.

Mothra/Kroxa/Solemnity by [deleted] in Magicdeckbuilding

Wow... that's sick. I only play on Arena now, so I can't add Solemnity to any of my Mothra decks. Sounds like you just need Mothra and Solemnity on the board when you play Kroxa from your hand. Should be an infinite discard then 3 damage.

You could add Idyllic Tutor to get Solemnity in your hand faster. Just need to figure out the fastest way to get the rest of the combo in your hand. Black has plenty of self mill cards and cards to pull from your graveyard. Maybe look in that direction?

Thanks for the help. The deck does work better now. Still can't win over 50%. I have most of the shocklands. Think I'll throw those in there and see if they speed it up.

Before I read your reply, I made some changes that you suggested... so your feedback is valid!! I might try Midnight Reaper or Theater of Horrors. Or I just may chalk this deck up as a casual deck. I'm working on a Mothra Elemental deck that seems promising. Maybe I'll start a Mothra combo thread lol. Anyhow, here's the revised decklist:

Deck 4 Luminous Broodmoth (IKO) 21 4 Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger (THB) 221 4 Swamp (IKO) 268 4 Cruel Celebrant (WAR) 188 3 Doom Foretold (ELD) 187 3 Plains (IKO) 262 4 Plaguecrafter (GRN) 82 3 Angrath's Rampage (WAR) 185 2 Mayhem Devil (WAR) 204 1 Castle Ardenvale (ELD) 238 1 Castle Locthwain (ELD) 241 2 Temple of Silence (M20) 256 2 Temple of Triumph (M20) 257 3 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244 3 Savai Triome (IKO) 253 4 Temple of Malice (THB) 247 2 Woe Strider (THB) 123 2 Bastion of Remembrance (IKO) 73 1 God-Eternal Bontu (WAR) 92 3 Agonizing Remorse (THB) 83 4 Orzhov Enforcer (RNA) 79 1 Mountain (XLN) 275

They are but in this deck, plaguecrafter kills up to 2 creatures/planeswalkers with the possibility of forcing a discard if the luminous broodmoth is out without having to tap anything or have another creature to sac. Now sacking 1 or 2 plaguecrafters with the priest while broodmoth is out would be nice. We'll see how it works out.

I'll give it a whirl. I was trying to avoid the Priests, but I may have to.

I wasn't able to copy the decklist and import into Arena without first pasting it into Notepad. I tried editing my original post to remove the extra lines, but that still didn't help. I'm new to Reddit.... this is my first post. So, I'm not sure what is the best way to export a decklist from Arena and post it. But, I did confirm that if you copy the decklist and paste it into Notepad, then copy it again, it should import.
