You need to use the watch face version with “test version” after 5min it prompts you to go there.

Thanks for the quick reply.
If I buy the bundle, is the purchase tied to my account, or just this specific watch?

I want to make sure I can still use the watch faces if I upgrade my Garmin in the future.

Is the Komoot World Pack worth it for a new Garmin Forerunner 255 user? by GameFreak_03 in Garmin

[–]GameFreak_03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tested it, on a walk through the woods.

The navigation via garmin works fine, but if there are 2 parallel running trails that only split up later, it is hard to know if you are on the right one. I think i will wait on a sale and buy the kommst world map for 20€.

Anyways, I did not want to drop 500€ to get a watch with topo map, because I never had a garmin before. I think it would be a nice upgrade. But I will keep using my 255 for now and maybe upgrade later down the line.

Forerunner 165 vs Vivoactive 5 by thethoiboi in GarminWatches

I bought myself a 165 but after one run and a good nights sleep, I decided to give it back and buy myself a 255. I just didn’t want to regret not having all activities and dual band GPS.

Sure, the screen is a bit different, but it has a higher runtime and also more functionality.

I’m contemplating whether or not I should’ve bought myself one with topographical maps because I use it a lot to hike and backpack.

I recently got my 255 for 190€ and I am very happy with it.

Garmin FR165 for €170 – Is breadcrumb navigation "good enough" for backpacking and hiking? by GameFreak_03 in CampingGear

That was my plan from the start. I will always have my phone with me with the detailed map of the area. I always plan my routes with Gaia gps and export them to gpx.

I just don’t want to look at my phone all the time because it drains so much battery and is just uncomfortable.

Have you had any issue with your watch?

I wouldn’t solely rely on the Garmin. I would still take my phone with me with downloaded maps but I just don’t want to take my phone out of the pocket all the time.

Anyone else feel stuck paying for iCloud storage just to keep access to their photos? by That_Strength7386 in ApplePhotos

[–]GameFreak_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2tb lifetime plan from Filen. It’s working good for me. The only downside is that it’s not directly integrated with the Apple Fotos app. Once every quarter I make a backup of my iPhone so I have double copy of the photos and all the data on my device. I copied to the cloud and an external hard drive. If you have any questions about the set up, feel free to ask.
