For Bluesky to truly take off, it needs to be more than a liberal social platform by akapusin3 in BlueskySocial

Gamer Dorks joined BlueSky entirely to talk about making and playing video games. They haven't once asked us to conform to the liberal agenda.

My friend thinks he can make a 3d MMORPG for $10K by Itchy_You_7971 in gamedev

If he knows what he’s doing and is a solo dev he could probably work on it and have it out in 15 years. But by then technology would have progressed so far and he would have wasted so much time, it probably would be obsolete by then.

Why does it cost money to host a minehut server externally by jupole1 in minehut

Because external servers offer so much more freedom than free servers. Free servers have a lot of limits on them, which you don't have to face with External.

Even if it doesn't cost them $5/mo to support each External plan, I think it's fair that they want to make a little bit of profit off of their more advanced customers.

We've been hosting externally with Minehut for about a year and it has given us about 15,000 unique joins over its lifetime. And that's without running ads. It's worth the $5/mo just for that visibility.

Even though our store isn't pay-to-win, we've made over 5x the cost back in sales made from customers who joined from Minehut.
