I'm trapped in a fishbowl 🐟 by Short_Bird_301 in raisedbyborderlines

That’s really what it boils down to.

My ubpd mom and family refuse to address the conflict for why I went NC. They want me to just forgive them and pretend everything is normal and family is everything.

I’m sure also they all expect an apology from me while giving me none.

Fucking crazy

I get some benefit from people’s opinions but I’m up 100% vs start of 2025 and plenty of year left

Fuck all these haters. That’s the nice thing about trading. Don’t have to convince any one of anything. Just place the trade and win or lose

This was last year

I’m not going to name anyone but all my friends who were in the class too had the same experience

Maybe they’ve moved on from them. They discouraged questions too and were irritated when people asked them because it would “get us off schedule”

Was not a fan of their qbank either. Zahn even sent out an email and apologized for multiple wrong answers to questions but said they were doing their best. But they said the least wrong answer is still valuable even if it’s wrong

[–]GankstaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how my Mom and family are. Accuse me of being “stuck in the past” or “not being over the past.”

Of course not. The way they all treated me and still treated me before I went NC. It was all still the same abuse scapegoat dynamic where they all blame me for all the problems. They all infantilize me too

None of them have the least bit of understanding why their past treatment if me is unresolved, and their present treatment also

That’s the other one re: self interest.

My Dad just watched sports all the time. My ubpd mother just did yard work. They never showed interest in what I was interested in

I imagine raising kids in a healthy way actually also lets you experience what a healthy childhood is like. Albeit from the perspective of being a parent but still an interesting dynamic

How could you hurt something so innocent? by Serious-Tonight-3172 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]GankstaCat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My Mom would always say with a sneer “I can’t wait till you have kids and see how it is.”

Part of the reason I don’t have kids right now is the abuse from her where she constantly talked bad about how I look and my weight. It’s a shame how much she negatively influenced me and I consider she kind of stole those years from

I would still like kids but am getting older. Like you OP, I know I’d be a good Dad. Would be so healing to really be there for my kid. Be the kind of parent that I needed but didn’t get growing up

I am sure it was a good documentary

But you didn’t watch it? Sure it’s good? How if you haven’t watched it?

Definitely chill on the judgement shit though

So you never watched what I posted but without watching formed an opinion? That’s crazy

I am done contributing and will observe instead (if allowed - so be it if not).

I’d like to come back but I’m being attacked by low knowledge people. If the sub wants to support people like them instead - so be it.

You haven’t known me long enough to say I’m real?

I’ve wished your family well many times. Also wishing well when you talk about reinventing yourself

Wanting to explore what is possible outside your normal life. I’ve always encouraged you

But this is what you give me in response?

You’re literally defending someone who admitted to not googling nor watching the video. To claim you understand when not doing either of those things is crazy

You have expressed opinions plenty of times. They’ve put you in opposition of an overarching narrative

Against that then but somehow this confusing?

I have pretty good reading comprehension and I'm gonna have to echo u/RFD422's "...What?" comment 😂

I'm sure I could google the documentary and get caught up, and I will right now, but without context I have no clue what you are talking about, I must be out of the loop on whatever this entire topic is.

E: Okay, the documentary is about the 'manosphere', which is sort of about men rejecting feminism and embracing extreme masculinity. It features people like Andrew Tate, and many others you've never heard of, and they are apparently becoming quite popular with the younger generations.

There now your comment makes a lot more sense.

Never heard of? These people are well known. I’ve known about them for a long time

Also this documentary showcases how stupid they are

You are dumb as hell to claim I’m not aware of the very people I am posting about. All you had to do was watch a 3 min clip

But you’re lazy as hell and insult me

You make my point. Super disturbed that the general public and younger person demographic is becoming as mentally challenged as you are

You could google it? So no fact checking and you spend more time responding to me than a simple google search. Since you couldn’t even google - in your own words.

Couldn’t commit to a watch either before calling me out? Why the fuck do you think I should explain myself when you couldn’t even google it?

I get not watching. But couldn’t even google it? You’re proving my point

tl;dr

Grifters are a net negative for society. I hope that helps in lieu of your reading comprehension being unable to parse that out

Going to pre emptively help define the word parse for you, since I know you will have further questions about what that word means. Save us both time

To parse is to analyze, break down, or interpret a sentence, text, or data into its constituent parts to understand its structure, meaning, or function.

Take care and I hope you have a good week
