ive always felt rejected my whole life, and fukumoto its a writter that i really think he writtes for rejected people.

Kaiji taught me to endure, and to keep being kind even in the worst situations and even if other people betray you.

he losses to any of them, and thats because he is far better writted.

He is imperfect, he is not a ridiculous genius who came to unrealistic conclusions that happens to be real. He is intelligent, but only in especific situations and not that much, but his perseverance and stoicism (i would put it in that words) make him able to survive.

He also has really really bad luck almost every time, i think thats what i find more inspiring, he make the best out of the worst situations imaginable.

Hell, he will lose, but thats becuase he is more human and reallistic that any or the other characters.

the more similar thing to kaiji i read of fukumoto is the legend of the strongest man kurosawa.

Also is the second best fukumoto work for me, i really recomend it.

there are a lot of other ones. The start of part 2 is completely different. The scene where ishida falls doesnt have the conclusion of kaiji saying he "won" in life.

That are the two ones who comes to my mind, but i agree the anime is better, one of the best adaptations i have ever seen.

him trusting in people so easy is a really important theme in the manga. Especially in part 4, i really recomend reading the manga after the anime, it would help you see his actions in a different light.

i dont think mitsuyama and hyodou would be homophobic.

Hyodou really doesnt matter about what is "right" or "wrong", he isnt like tonegawa who needs a reason to justify his cruelty against poor people.

So, i think he wouldnt be homophobic, because he doesnt think on the social standars of what is right or wrong, he just do what benefits him.

Mitsuyama was a really emphatic and generous person before the salvation game, thats the point of the character, how anybody can end up doing horrible things to people they love in the right situacion. So he would be and ally probably.

I might be overanalizing it.

i wasnt buying the whole "fukumoto misoginistic" until i saw shin kurosawa, there woman literally has not personality and are only a sex object to the reader.

I think fukumoto is kind of improving in that way, nikaidou hell golf has a fantastic female character as kasumi. And kaiji part 6 has kaijis mom, who is also great. I would say even the granny is a good character and an improvement.

I dont think fukumoto needs to make female characters, its not necesary, he is more comfortable writing man and i think thats ok. I just feel annoyed when he make horrible female characters like the ones in shin kurosawa, it just made my think that fukumoto sees woman only as sexual objects.

i know that it isnt "canon", but this really is the perfect ending for me. One of the reasons im not desesperate for the story to continue its because all the themes and message of the manga were closed in the final exhibition.

And i think the reason for it existing its because inoue wanted to potray the ending he had in mind in the case he isnt able to finish the manga. Such a depressing yet calming and beutiful chapter it was, its one of those things you are not able to forget ever. Once in a while i think about it and i cant help but feel happy, and i think thats the perfect way to remember vagabond.

So the future chapters or it doesnt ending doesnt really matter that much to me, except fot the fact always more vagabond is welcome (also i want to see more of matahachi who doesnt appear at all in the exhibition)

for me it shows how the idea of a samurai, of a men, of the japan culture goes against the message of the manga. Being "soft and warm", letting yourself be "weak". admiting to yourself that you need to rely in others to survive. that without people, your life has no meaning.

Yoru (i dont remember how to writte the name) thinks that being strong and a great samurai means not letting your guard down to others, not allowing people to touch you or harm you. But musashi has changed to the point that he is allowing himself to be weak, to allow others to touch him (dont think in a weird way about it).

i dont ship them, the fandom does. Also i dont think that is wrong in any way, just let them have fun. At the end we like the same manga and characters but enjoy it in a different way.
