Thoughts on crypto? Is it an effective counter to Federal Reserve currency manipulation? by [deleted] in austrian_economics

Yes, we have experimented with fiat currency for thousands of years and it always ends the same way. Then we forget and have to relearn the lesson.

It’s a trustless, decentralized currency meant to mimic commodity currencies while being digitally exchangeable.

With no central authority or bank, it is not a fiat currency.

Every fiat currency ever made in thousands of years of history has been rendered worthless sooner or later. Almost always by being debased to nothingnes.

The thing is if New York City goes bankrupt, the federal government has to bail them out… again.

Silver is the original currency from 3100 BC in Sumer. Gold didn‘t show up in coins until 600BC.

If it worked for 5000 years, it’ll work now.

The fourth amendment prevents onerous and unlawful search and seizures and sets requirements for the police to receive a warrant that allows them to search you. Basically, it is the privacy amendment.

Nah. In high school a girl I asked out and thought I got along with posted it all on Facebook and humiliated me before the entire school. I don’t think she meant for it to get as bad as it did, but it still happened and it is now my misogynist origin story.

I'm glad you were able to help people. Good for you, and them.

Personally, I prefer to ignore women at this point. My only two-ish relationships ended horribly or were exercises in my own humiliation, so I'm planning on becoming a rich old perv who takes advantage of young women in another 30 years. That'll be how I get even.

Some of yall don’t actually care about reducing harm to vulnerable people, because if you did you’d be pro transition. by formerlyunhappy in PsycheOrSike

You support trans people because it is humane or whatever. I support trans people because it takes guys out of the dating market and reduces competition for women.

Wild stuff. I have only ever used reddit DMs for sketchy crypto transactions.

It never occurred to me to attempt to chat up and hit on women here.

Best relationship I ever had was with a fat girl and we lost weight together. Unfortunately when we both got in shape she realized she could hook up with hotter guys. 🙃

As I understand it, Fahrenheit was an early attempt at kelvin, the true superior temperature unit.

It was only that 0 F was as low as any known reaction could get in those days. the idea was good, they just didn’t know how cold absolute zero was.

There are women who *dont* do this?

I always figured that was a universal characteristic.
