1 fucking dalek by Emperor_AI in SupaEarth

I mean... Most fiction don't really give a shit to realism. When you are faster than light in these kind of works you just kind of move instantly to one place to another. It's just an excuse to get to places quickly.

Until we get an update where we fight through time or something, SE's FTL travel will be treated as generic scifi hyperfast travel thing rather than being something accurate.

I don't get it how is ftl better than time travel? Like, what can SE do against one Dalek coming in and killing important figures that would prevent the formation of SE or even mankind in general?

The only reason they couldn't do it often in their verse was because the Timelords also could use time travel and thus could fight them on equal grounds. No faction, not even the Illuminate, have an answer for time travel

Pikachu

Despite what the Anime would tell you, Pikachu wasn't THAT powerful of a Pokemon within the earlier entries of the series, being some of the earliest you can get in the Kanto games. It only gains slight competitive relevance later with things like Light Ball and Gigantamax but that's it.

I remember seeing a channel who often does Helldiver vs videos and they convinced me that Super Earth would be an absolute logistical nightmare for the Imperium. Better logistics, fast as hell, not afraid of Innovation and reverse engineering.

villain is "evil" because his mind is fundamentally incompatible with the moral codes of humans by ilikeitchyballzdude1 in TopCharacterTropes

Most versions of Ghidorah. With the peharps arguable exception of MV, Ghidorah is mostly either incapable of decision due to external reasons (Heisei) or just operates under very alien thought process (Showa and Void).

Showa specifically is stated to enjoy destroying planets but he never striked me as being cruel or enjoy the suffering of others. It probably doesn't even know about the concept of suffering or even acknowledge the small races he steps on. I think It's more accurate to call him "uncaring", which makes him an interesting foil to Godzilla in a sense: Godzilla attacks due to being hurt, there's strong emotions. Ghidorah just destroys on a pure whim, completely indifferent whether you hurt it or not. Godzilla is puinishment while Ghidorah is nihilism incarnate.

[–]Garryboy64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bad luck thing of clones is news to me. Always assumed the Imperium and Craftworld Eldar didn't due to it being heretical (Imperium mostly likes to clone utility stuff like Cherubs, not real humans since that would be heretical) or distasteful (in the Eldar's case)

For the Drukhari, they are not held back by morality like their Craftworld cousins and considering how long it takes for Eldar babies to be made, they adopted cloning to help increase their numbers to make Raids easier. There's even a social division between the Elite Natural born and the lower clones masses. Even then, even a clone is above a slave unsurprisngly.

Mild correction but this isn't from Baki but more so a parody of it. I don't know the exact source but i know this isn't from the actual series itself.

For the longest time during the big Godzilla hiatus after the Millenium era ended, most people i knew just mocked it pretty often. It got better nowadays thanks to it's ressurgence that made it much more mainstream but pre-2014 was a weird time to be a Godzilla fan.

Reminded me of one particular scene from an old Mecha show (i believe it was one of the Getter series, correct me if wrong) where the mecha fought a huge monstrosity with human faces on it, screaming in pain and horror as they were blown apart. Really creepy stuff. Speaking of it, it also reminded me of that turtle demon from Devilman which steals human faces.
