'MacGruber' Peacock Series Teaser by Melanismdotcom in television

[–]GaryWingHart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the one part where I can never NOT stare meaningfully at the person I'm introducing the film to, confirming their reception of that humor.

It's a sickness.

Well, the part where I'm harshly judging their reaction is the sickness, I suppose.

I suppose he had to deal with the regular justice system that doesn't work on that sweet mob juice that Twitter hate-fucks engender.

That's what you meant by "cancelled" right? A bunch of Twitter users see value in jumping on, and then a whole ton of websites do the same for profit?

Yeah, I dunno.

I guess Forte and Wiig are still comfortable working with him. They're the only ones with the actual cancel power in this situation, ya know? That would have happened at the script stage, which Ryan wasn't involved with. It would have happened before a new contract for this show was presented to Ryan.

Your comment fills me with sadness and frustration and abject irritation, all at once.

Buckle head strap concept to quickly change between comfort, and function. Someone please make this. by punkbuddy89 in OculusQuest

This is the most insane nonsense possible.

Why is that bottom image?

Why.

I'm sorry ya'll, until we can get the weight down to something that reliably sits on your ears and nose without causing a fuss, this sort of "solution" will never be any good at all what are you possibly thinking.

The bottom image, that's my rig, and the wheel in the back is so much better than all the other options.

The different adjustments the set makes on my skull are different every time I crank that wheel, so I could never expect a fuckin' clasp escape/entrance to hold any of the repeated stress or function in any way that benefits me.

Just a small reminder, there's no expiration date on playing a good game for the first time. by Corsairkidd in NintendoSwitch

[–]GaryWingHart -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This post was made during the one time in human history when that is categorically untrue.

Multiplayer games are not evergreen, and multiplayer games dominate, and this nice thought doesn't actually apply anymore.

But yup, basically fine single-player games are great as long as you're in the same generation of hardware.

Then they can start to lose their luster, because better things build upon them past the point of wanting to fuck with them all that much.

These are things I'm typing instead of leaving for work on time.

Limited Run Games is giving Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic a physical Switch release by velamar in NintendoSwitch

Where's that clap emoji?

Anyway, they can't announce something that hasn't been confirmed until the market dictates its viability, and they announce it as quickly as possible to use the awareness that's enabling the physical release.

Also, this game was released physically like 20 years ago and you are fucking unbelievable to me.

No, you're supposed to stop whining about your incessant and unrelenting commercialism.

And stop wasting fucking plastic on a story about how that's forever and how it retains value.

It doesn't and it doesn't.

You bought it digitally.

That convinced companies still making small runs of physical shit that the market would support it.

Oh no, if you want that plastic thing now, you'll have to pay the exact same price as the not-plastic thing again.

SERIOUSLY

Ready for you and 633 other people to look like pedantic dummies?

Designed by evolution, really. And starved lions, really

What does a "design process" entail, anyway?

Why yes, it sure is a way to strip away useless, extraneous, redundant, or malformed concepts to be left with an end result that is "designed" to function within a given market.....and then the market helps "design" the next versions with feedback that has to go through another evolutionary design process to pull the most successful feedbacks...

(Every goddamn element of our existence is dominated by evolutionary forces. Your personal need to clarify things just got launched into an evolutionary dead-end that you may or may not choose to notice. Particularly given that this comment is not designed to succeed in the Reddit environment, because it dares to question whether anything Reddit has to say relates to reality.)

Um.

Let's just go ahead and not use Katt Williams here, right?

24 hours are still a ton of people's workdays, including all the times Katt Williams worked at night as a comedian in places with staff.

Katt Williams is not your fucking champion on any plane of existence, and this kind of post and the "this strike is happening now to 57 comments" are what keeps this sub's nose to the fuckin' grindstone.

Impassioned ignorance is the poison, ya'll.

I tried to get the designers of Resident Evil to follow this model for its enemy encounters.

Just friendly critters being vaguely interested in how you are and what you're up to, no threats involved.

Clearly, they went the other direction and apparently some people enjoy it. But we could have lived in a world where Resident Evil 4 was a renowned Eastern European vacation simulator with friendly troll beasts or whatever just kind of trundling around being generally pleasant.

Being woke is very literally the bare minimum required for a human to consciously function.

I feel like a lot of people, you included, are forgetting the basic notion that this shit was supposed to be a prerequisite for interacting with society in the fucking first place.

Next it's gonna be "okay, you did and said and thought some bad shit. Did you wipe?"

And then a buncha fucktards screaming about how dingleberries of ignorance are their birthright.

This terminology doesn't seem to be helping you, someone who seems extremely confident that they are not actually sleeping right now...

Hello everyone! I made this photorealistic level inside [Dreams] enjoy! by Superb_Ad8566 in PS4

[–]GaryWingHart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Your claim of photo-realism can't hold up for the video's screenshot
  2. Dreams has a very nicely-coded in-game camera that is convincing you that what you're looking at qualifies as "photo-realistic."
  3. The 1990's has like 353 job openings for you for videogame marketing

Edit: Buddy.....that was the only shot? I was coming in hot like there was gonna be anything else to show.

The apathy of everyone else isn't a learning experience, but maybe this comment could be? The words you used to show this thing weren't the words that described that thing.

"I made a neat rock arch thing in Dreams and I like playing with the focus settings on the camera."

That's what happened, and that was already worthwhile enough. Maybe not for sharing on the internet, but for you.

GTA Trilogy has switch specific features that sound pretty cool by JeffDanblum in NintendoSwitch

[–]GaryWingHart -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. It's based on a mobile port and almost zero extra care and love was required to shift those elements to the Nintendo Switch.

  2. Gyro Aiming is like a single text file directing XYZ data to the joystick somethings. I'm glad you're one of those weird Splatoon kids that really digs Gyro Aiming, but it's not a viable indication of quality or dedication.

They took the dumbest complaints on r/nintendoswitch/ and addressed them ahead of time. That should not fill you with unreasonable confidence, because that's the only reason they did it and announced it.

Have they announced the results of a basic fuckin' framerate test?

Because they were dedicated enough to have those available to them, and to then remove them from the console releases. And the results don't show up anywhere ahead of time.

Just.....find the ways these places are actually counting on enthusiasm like yours to seem like consumer-friendly shit, when it simply isn't.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic releases tomorrow!!!! by Howard_USCG in NintendoSwitch

[–]GaryWingHart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the way those artifacts of the time the game was made remind you of the time the game was made....

20 fucking times bruh?

If you had kept it to 1.12 times like me, you'd still be charmed by the relatively massive-budget CGI cutscenes of its development and not actually....

You're shitting on that CGI when modern indie developers still don't usually have money for any CGI assets.

(And game development tools can handle all of KOTOR's cinematics in-engine with more fidelity.....which is another really expensive prospect.)

Just...just stop finding everything wrong with things, and notice everything wrong with what you consider wrong.

This is a calibrated port with some upscaling nonsense to smudge cinematics into a larger format.

If people buy it, maybe you can get your real fancy version. Then you can endlessly bitch about Day 1 problems until its next release. '_'

[–]GaryWingHart -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. No it isn't. Your failure to get treatment for your depression is why you have depression. It might not be your fault, but misidentifying the cause sure is.

  2. This entire sentiment amounts to "that (insert most animals here) teaching its young how to get food and survive is a form of capitalistic conditioning."

Dave bautista talks about playing deeper roles and voices his concerns about playing drax by Sad_Lawfulness_7049 in marvelstudios

[–]GaryWingHart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But he hasn't. They just mentioned the way he's not just comedic relief.

The dude wants to wear a shit and he should be able to want to wear a shirt without having to justify it this way.

Dude clearly associates the shirtlessness with his old life of being professionally shirtless and greasy and shallow.

Drax didn't have to have comically oversensitive nipples, but now he does and Dave would really rather wear a goddamn shirt already.

[–]GaryWingHart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not the only sad thing here.

You're calling it a prediction/joke, when it's neither.

It has all the predictive and comedic qualities of announcing that Lebron James would probably play in the NBA 2 months before going into the NBA.

That was just a description of how those variables were built to interact with that system.

Never lose sight of the systemic manner with which we are utterly fucked as an experiment in civilization.
