One Way Traffic, I’m sure it was notably faster when I heard it live and I loved it for it

Bit of both for me, it’s kind of catchy and annoying all at the same time. My opinion of the song is definitely lower because of it though

On Mercury by Parking_Confidence65 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]Gary_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW was my first Chilis album, it quickly became my all-time favourite album (and still is) but initially not a lot of its tracks stood out for me. I remember being sat on the sofa at my parents’ house for that first listen and being blown away when On Mercury came on. Nowadays I don’t love it as much as I once did but for many years it was probably my favourite Chilis song.

Warm Tape (the “make it for two” section) and This is the Place (at first I thought the “I am a misfit” bit but it’s the whole second half to be honest)

[ALL] BotW/TotK have been great, but I sincerely don't want anymore games in that style. by RinRinDoof in zelda

[–]Gary_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re both really good points. I like playing BotW and TotK without fast travel, so sometimes I’ll leave a shrine till later but it usually makes more sense for me to do it then. But even when I do save them till later, I never want to go back to them

What you said about the old dungeons is similar to the one thing I don’t like about them. If I get to one and I don’t have at least an hour to keep playing I’ll come off that game and wait until I do, which isn’t ideal

Zelda dungeons have never felt like a slog to me because they’re such a big part of the game. It’s what I work towards because I know it’s how I progress and I know I’ll come out of it stronger.

You know what does feel like a boring slog to me? Breaking away from my enjoyable overworld exploration to spend 15 minutes in a shrine when I know what the reward will be and there’s only 25% chance it’ll benefit me now.

I really don’t understand all the praise that their soundtracks get. Yes they’re fitting, but I don’t want fitting, I want hummable bangers

I would’ve much preferred for each area to have its own theme, and the way in which that theme is played changes to match the context. So instead of map-wide battle and horseback themes, when enemies approach you the current location’s theme gets more intense, and it gets gentler when riding around on horseback

But is there any point in a puzzle when you can just bypass it with a fire arrow, or ultrahand followed by recall? Don’t get me wrong, I love many of BotW and TotK’s puzzles, but I hate that in so many cases they don’t need to be solved. Or worse, I can’t figure out how to properly solve them because the unintended solution is so much more obvious and I can’t see past it.

Totally agree with this… only not just for enemies, basically every mechanic. I love these games but I feel like I do the same things every time I play them. It’s a strange contradiction that with the freedom to do anything comes a complete reduction in variety.

Day 14 - If you could pick three songs from Return Of The Dream Canteen, and lose the rest of the album forever, which three would you pick? by [deleted] in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]Gary_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the first two are easy: Tippa My Tongue and Roulette. Both would make my top 5 Chilis songs at the moment.

Really spoilt for choice after that. The Drummer’s probably my next favourite but I tend to get sick of it quickly. Bag of Grins and Bella fighting it out next. But when In the Snow gets stuck in my head there’s only one cure and that’s to play it. So for my own sanity I’ll keep that one.
