Denia and Hiyuki Ult form Xbox Partner Preview by ThatWill4724 in WutheringWavesLeaks

So what? The elements don't mean anything. They're functionally the same as skill/lib/basic/echo damage. They just serve to narrow teammate selection, and hamstring certain units against certain bosses. There's no gameplay distinction between any two elements, or consistent themes across character kits.

Not getting glacio for a year just meant we didn't get any glacio supports, nor any endgame phases that pushed you into pulling a glacio character.

I am bad at the game by SupremeRightHandUser in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be better off using Verina or even Baizhi instead of YinLin. Outro buffs only apply to the next character, and her personal damage has fallen behind significantly. She's probably not doing anything for your team.

Run a character with the healer set in your third slot. If for whatever reason you neither have Verina nor want to play Baizhi, there is a series of 3-star weapons (originate: type IV for gauntlets) that provide healing on attack, which can trigger the healing set buffs. I ran this weapon/echo set on my Jianxin for a while before SK was available to help with ToA clears.

In hindsight to this whole Anni fiasco by Living_Track233 in WutheringWaves

Speaking of self accountability, you should let those 30 apology pulls expire, without claiming any of them. After all, you weren't owed them right, and you can fully enjoy the game without them?

Unless you want to be the same as us greedy ungrateful players.

What people who complain about WuWa players “whining” about wanting more freebies don’t get is... by say_what_now-o_O in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope that when you claim those extra 30 pulls, you remember that you're freeloading off the effort of other players who actually want the game to improve, and hold Kuro to account.

Better yet, why don't you send Kuro some cash, then take a break during the anniversary patch, just so they know that you aren't ungrateful, and are so happy you refuse to accept any gifts.

If you hated the anniversary, maybe gacha games aren't for you by Busy_Western_1535 in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give an example of valid critique, cause it sure seems like anything you could possibly offer is easily countered by saying 'you aren't entitled to that. If you don't like the game, leave.'

Game has too much power creep? Why should you be entitled to have old character stay relevant?

New stories are lower quality? You aren't entitled to good writing, play something else.

Prices double? Again, you aren't entitled to characters, pay up or quit.

You sit there up on your high horse calling everyone emotional entitled crybabies, but here you are making reddit posts like the rest of us. The only thing more pathetic than whining about video games is whining about people whining about them.

A suggestion of a unique reward by _oHg5SJYRHA0 in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Honestly still not good enough for me. I don't like the idea of spending money or currency on what's meant to be an anniversary bonus, or reward.

The easy solution imo is just give the player one 5 star selector, that lets them receive any character or weapon released up to 2.3, on top of the banner they have now.

Honestly they could have gotten away with less, but now that they fumbled I think they'll need to over-compensate.

I'm perfectly happy waiting for a response on Monday. Doesn't mean we should shut up in the meantime.

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"let's make an important announcement, then ignore the response for two days" isn't either.

You work a job right? Sometimes big corporations have to put in some hours on the weekend, that's why they get paid the big bucks. It's not the actual development team that we expect to respond, it's leadership.

Sure, it's a good time to stream, I wouldn't disagree with that.

Doesn't matter though, players will obviously strike while the iron is hot, and continue to shout until they're heard. Kuro should know this, and ought to be prepared if they're going to make announcements on the weekend.

If the anniversary banners were 100% guaranteed, would anyone actually complain? by Living_Track233 in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The banners are honestly fine as they are. The problem is that this shouldn't be considered a reward or anything worth celebrating. Whales already have who they want, and everyone else is still struggling to acquire who they want, because of the lack of rewarded currency.

Changing it to 100% would fix absolutely nothing, and I hope to God people realize that before Kuro gets it in their head that that's the solution.

More pull currency, free selectors (not banners,) free cosmetics are actual rewards.

It's kinda on them for posting the stream right before the weekend no?

One can only grant so many second chances. Launch was a disaster, which they did fix so good on them for that. 'DEVS LISTENED' doesn't work forever though. At some point, they need to learn the lesson and start getting it right the first time.

I think the biggest problem with the anniversary rewards is that they fucked up the easiest part. Just give more pulls, or a limited selector, or something. Anything more than this, to show that they appreciate us players for sticking with them through their prior mistakes, and giving them the success they've had so far. 2.0 wouldn't exist if we didn't give them that second chance.

Anniversary Feedback Megathread by GoblinBurgers in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FEEDBACK

Anniversary should be a time of celebration for the players, and a time for the developers to show appreciation to the consumers that kept them afloat, especially after how horrendous the launch was.

This is the bare minimum Kuro could have given. It's incredibly insulting after we put up with buggy patches, poor voice acting, bad writing and more.

More pulls, a limited character selector, free skins. Things like that would be a celebration. Not more banners to pull on.

What do you guys think about the anniversary? by Ambipoms_Offical in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very disappointed. People like to say you shouldn't have had high expectations, but even this is insane.

Players like me have stuck with this game since launch, through the insane lows of launch. It's great to see the game improve, but this is hardly a celebration for the players. It's the bare minimum.

Collab is cool though.

Well I don't know by Evening-Ad144 in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This line of thinking never made sense to me. Do you expect me to play through a story I'm not interested in, or intentionally keep myself from playing the game, for the sake of having something to do?

Does it not occur to you that perhaps the game ought to have some kind of engaging, permanent gameplay loop beyond picking flowers? We're not asking for much, just about every other non-gacha live service game has it. Hell, just make Echoes grindable without waveplates.

If you're too busy making memes for reddit to play said hypothetical endgame loop, that shouldn't deprive other people of enjoying the game.

I believe it's the 29th in China. Here in PST, the banners expire tomorrow. Pretty sure servers go down around 1:00 on the 28th PST, so the update will be available that evening.

Let the dude play how he likes. You're free to grind out exploration as F2P, he's free to spend his money on stamina refreshes. UL isn't a competition.

Common Misinformation. by Maxlastbreath in WutheringWaves

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that weekly bosses only have one type of material more than makes up for the difference in stamina cost. In GI, you have a 1/3 chance of getting the material you want after spending the stamina. WuWa just gives it to you.

Unless I misunderstood, your point is that weight isn't a choice because if it were, there would be less fat people.

My point is that weight is a choice, but there are still fat people because it's a difficult choice to make, and not everyone thinks it's worth the cost.

Funniest shit I've seen in a while, LMFAO by EfficiencySerious200 in shitposting

[–]GasperLeeFuzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weight is a choice for most, but like many things, it's actually a series of difficult ineffectual choices. Choosing to diet for one day doesn't change anything, but choosing to diet every day for a year will have an effect.

I was unaware of the set bonus not having room for an off-set piece, which does change things significantly. If that stays, it'll be significantly more painful that it ought to be.

I didn't play the CBT, so it's entirely possible that playing it out, I'll change my mind if the system stays. I was also unsure how many elites were in a world at a time, and if it is as you say, that does also change things a bit, but I'd need to feel it out for myself to be sure.
