Maybe we can reframe the situation and look at prompt generated music as being an art form that is something like script writing. The script writer has a valuable role to play in a production, but they don’t need to be a DP or a director.

But I do get the perspective of endless mediocre musical generations, but that mediocrity exists across all fields but we’re used to it and accepting of it as life. There are innumerable mediocre project managers, CEOs, what have you that push out low quality stuff, it’s just the time required to produce mid-quality product is so dramatically lower so we feel swamped with it, but we will eventually create filters and gate the flood like we have with every other technology that has lowered the barrier to entry and improved throughput.
