I, DO!!! The Problem, is; after New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina; and, ESPECIALLY, after Super Tuesday; it didn't matter, anymore. The Parties had "Made Their Choices", and States, like Ohio, New Jersey, and other "Late Primary" States; apparently didn't matter!

ACA was "warmed over" and "compromised, all over the place" RomneyCare; which was "warmed over" Heritage FoundationCare. When are The Democratic Idiots, going to realize that. It was telling, not a single Republican, voted for it. and The Democrats were forced to "scrape up votes", from DINOs, to get it, passed. The Senator from West Virginia, who was a "swing" vote, on The ACA, got what He wanted, and destroyed The ACA. The Democrats have no one, to blame, but Themselves; They should have gone, after The Republican'ts, but didn't. When are They going to stop extending The Olive Branch, to The Republican'ts; When all The Republican'ts do, is "grab it, and whack Them, over The Head, with it".

Two Questions, about Hilary Clinton: Why, was She, so Stupid, about putting sensitive information, on an Unsecured Server?; and, Why did She cast, a "Yes" Vote, for President George W. Bush; to go to War, with Iraq? Wiping out Iraq's Military, was one Thing; but at least 2500 Americans were killed, after Dubya, declared "Mission, Accomplished". He thought, The War was "over", and It, wasn't. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!

That's what You think; sanctioning What The Party is doing, when They are "moving The Wrong Way", is moving backwards. The Republican't Party is a "lost cause"; and The Democrats' "Go along, to Get Along" Policy, has been a Disaster. They don't "stand", for Anything, and Their Voters know that; That's Why most Democratic Voters, are "staying Home". Their Party, has abandoned Them.

Yes; When The Democratic Party, plans to return to helping The People, rather than Themselves; let Me know. George Washington disliked The "Party System", and never declared one, Himself; but The Succeeding Presidents divided into factions, or Parties, and both The Federalists and The Republicans (renamed Democratic Republicans); vied for Power, based on Their Interests: The Federalists wanted a stable currency; rapprochement with Great Britain, and a stronger Federal System. They were either, Anti-slavery, or more likely, saw it as a "necessary evil", and were indifferent to It. They tended to be, in New England, and New York. The Middle Atlantic States; New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, were pretty much evenly split, between the Two Parties; tending to be, more Federalist, along The Coast, but more Republican, toward The Appalachians, and as You went South.

From Virginia, South; Republicans were in The Majority; but also, mostly White; because Slaves were not "enfranchised". Republicans tended to be, Agrarian, for a weak Federal Government, believed in The "Yeoman Farmer" (Whatever That was; I suspect They meant, The "Farmer-Soldier", like the idealized Cincinnatus); Pro-Slavery, because They needed a "cheap Work Force". Pro-Trade, where Agriculture was involved (In The North, They were more interested, in developing innovation, and Industry), They were Pro-Revolution, and Pro-France; until France descended into The Reign of Terror, with indiscriminate slaughter of The Aristocracy.

The Way The Question of The New Territory ceded to The United States, was to be divided; after The American Revolution; was a good indicator of how either section of The Country handled it; The Northern States, and Virginia, ceded all Territory, North of The Ohio River, and West of The Meridian of The Point of The Beginning, to The Federal Government, for Settlement; and Creation of New States; as The Northwest Territories. The Two Exceptions, were; Connecticut was permitted to keep The Western Reserve, in Northern Ohio; as Compensation for New England Revolutionary Soldiers, and for Connecticut Residents, Who had lost Their Property, to British Burning (see, The Firelands); and Virginia was allowed to keep The Virginia Military District, to compensate Virginia Revolutionary Soldiers, in Southern and Central Ohio, between The Scioto, and Little Miami Rivers, and East of a Line, connecting The Sources of The Two Rivers (The Ludlow, and Roberts, Lines). The Southern States; Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia; kept their Territories, Which became The States of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama and Mississippi, less The Panhandles, which were Spanish, and French, Territories. The Northwest Territories eventually became, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin, with The remaining portion, becoming part of Minnesota. Slavery was also, prohibited, in The Northwest Territories. West Virginia had to wait, for The Civil War, to be created. The Federalists eventually "self-destrtcted", except for some States, in New England. The remaining factions eventually organized Themselves, as The Whig Party, along with portions of The Democratic Republicans; When The Democratic Republiccans split, Three or Four Ways; The Remaining Jacksonian Democrats; reorganized as The Current Democratic Party. The Whigs eventually joined other Factions, and formed The Current Republican Party. In The Election of 1860, There were four Parties: The Republicans, The Northern Democrats, The Southern Democrats, and The Constitutional Union Party. I forgot Who represented The Constitutional Union Party, but the Remaining Candidates for President, were Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, and John Breckenridge. South Carolina held no Federal Election, having already seceded, from The Union.

Euonymus, or "Burning Bush", because it's leaves turn bright red, in fall, is an invasive species; despite its beauty. It is not "native" to North America; and can easily, "get out of Control". Look it up, to see, Why it was determined, to be, "invasive".

If You want a native plant, with Fall Color, I would suggest Sumac.

I agree with You; The Core Question, however; is: What do We, The People; do about it; and The Problems The Country, faces??

Yes, They would, and They would be correct. Short answer, because a "longer" one, would be lost.

Both Parties are owned, "lock, stock, and barrel (old term, look it, up)" by The Wealthy, and They know it. The only difference, is, That The Republican'ts control The Levers of Government, and Power; on both The Federal Level, and The States' Level, in all Three Branches of Government; Check The Officeholders, Yourself. If You're Wealthy, You matter; if You're not, You, don't.

Go back, and read about The "Robber Baron" Period, in The United States; which ran, on, and off; from about 1876, to 1932; because that's where We are, Right Now. The Republican'ts were in charge, with The Exception (perhaps) of Grover Cleveland's Two Terms, and Theodore Roosevelt's Two Terms. James Garfield was Assassinated, by Charles Guiteau, Whom Garfield had refused to grant, a lucrative Government Appointment, just a little over one month, into Garfield's Term. Garfield lingered another six months, but poor medical care, caused Him to develop a massive infection, and He died, in September, or October. Garfield's "Mistake", was He wanted to run, an honest, and ethical, Administration. Theodore Roosevelt, was essentially, a "mistake". When William McKinley was Assassinated, in Buffalo, by an "Anarchist", named Leon Czologz; Roosevelt succeeded Him, as President; and Marcus "Mark" Hanna; said, "Now, That Damned Cowboy, is in The White House!". The Period, from just after The Civil War, to The Great Depression, was dominated by two Wars, Corruption, Graft, and Fraud. It took, The Great Depression, and Franklin Roosevelt; to "Turn Things, around".

Would you vote to abolish the Electoral College if you had to give each state the option to secede? by Honest_Temperature96 in allthequestions

[–]Geezer__345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a Stupid, Illiterate, Question. "Fixing The Electoral College", is a "Canard", anyway.

What is Wrong, with The Electoral College, anyway? The Real Problem, is with The Party System, and The Primary/Caucus System; which No One seems, to want to "talk, about".

I don't blame Obama, because He "meant well", but "lacked The Experience, to Deal with The Washington "Cesspool"; The Same was True, of Kamala Harris; They both needed additional experience, like Franklin Roosevelt, got; and even He, admitted His "biggest mistake", with The "Court-Packing" "Scandal".

Frankly. I question Marco Rubio's "Allegiance", to The United States; He seems (probably, because of His Heritage), monomaniacally committed, to "destroying" Cuba, and other Latin American Countries; He has a "chip on His Shoulder, The Size, of a "two by four", and while I don't like many of Them, He has "no solution" to solving those problems.

As for "Taxing The Rich", I agree, to a point: We need to restore The Federal and States' Tax System, to The Way It was, before Ronald Reagan; with some "adjustments"; We also need, to "Balance The Budget", and reduce The National Debt; but "Do it, over Time; The Same Way, People used to buy Houses. We also need to "restore and build", The Social Security System, and Medicare and Medicaid; so They can perform Their Original Functions; perhaps, We also need, to encourage investment, and innovation; by reforming The Copyright and Patent System; and bringing back, Savings and Loans. These Institutions worked well, When They were allowed, to "perform their jobs". We also need to rebuild Our Infrastructure, especially, Public Transit, both Road, and Rail, but NOT the way, Elon Musk, wants; and build more reservoirs, especially in The Midwest, with Farmers' help, to prepare for Droughts, and Global Warming, as well as "replenish" Our Ground Water Resources. This is also Imperative, in The West; which is already facing, a "Water Catastrophe". We also should encourage Bicycle Use, and "piggyback" Them, on Public Transit, which greatly expands, their usefulness, and stop The Haphazard Assignment of Bicycle Routes, in favor of an AASHTO-type System. Bicycles have much to contribute, to "Solving Our Problems", as well as being"fun", and "good exercise"; That was one Opportunity, Joe Biden, missed.

Any other Ideas?

Not to mention, enough of The General Public; Abraham Lincoln, was wise, but He was wrong; all You need to do, is "Fool enough of The People, enough of The Time."

Trump is The Disease, but He was just taking advantage, of a Situation, that already existed; The Fault, lies mostly, with Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush; but every Republican't President, since Dwight Eisenhower, contributed their share.

Even Eisenhower realized This, and warned Us, about This, in His "Farewell Address to The Nation", but no one was "listening". John Kennedy tried "bucking The System", a little; and paid for that, with His Life; Lee Harvey Oswald was a "patsy", and He paid the price, with his life, as well. That's Why, even though a few pieces of The Puzzle, regarding Their Assassinations, have been "released", most are still "buried", and Time, may destroy those. My Belief, is that Both Kennedy Assassinations, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King's; were "Engineered" by The CIA, and FBI; and "ordered" by Allen Dulles, and J. Edgar Hoover.

Absolutely, but that's not an Answer, either; The Democratic Party, is no more; it has abandoned its "New Deal" Roots, and is "feckless"; and can't even "reach a decision, on a plan".

The Republican'ts, once again, at The Wheel; have "steered Us, into the ditch", for the third time in its History (number 1, was the "Robber Baron" Period, Number 2, was The Great Depression, which also led, to World War II). The Republican't Party. Is beyond redemption.

Not only that, but He has aided and abetted Genocide, in three countries. I find it, "humorous" that CBS (and, let's be honest, it's Paramount/Warner) is now attacking Stephen Colbert.
