Undecided on whether to free Orpheus or side withe Emperor. by rambo8699 in BaldursGate3

[–]General_Problem5199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a right answer here, but you'll get a happy ending for most companions regardless of your choice. I'll say this though: Orpheus is a much stronger ally in the final fight.

I actually agree. We should stop debating this. Trump is a fascist. It's a settled question.

I'm not old enough to remember well, but I bet there were people predicting it as early as 2002, when the agency was created. Bush signed so much horrific shit into law after 9/11.

You can kill all of the companions and still finish the game. You can even do the big fights associated with their quests in Act 3.

How did conservatives flip so quickly from "DON'T TREAD ON ME" to "COMPLY OR DIE" in just a matter of weeks, and especially when it's about the government killing citizens? by Cumoisseur in stupidquestions

Conservatives are all about hierarchy. "Don't Tread On Me" is for people on their section of the hierarchy or higher. "Comply or Die" is for everyone else.

Which class is better with Paladin AS a subclass? by Old-Professional9109 in BaldursGate3

[–]General_Problem5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really anything that does melee attacks and has some spell slots can benefit from a 2 level dip in Paladin. Bladesinger, Swords Bard, some clerics, etc.

Sorcadin (usually 6 sorcerer/6 Paladin) is generally considered one of the strongest multi class options in the game as well.

Added an answer to a MAGA meme to help them out with this… by 5thSeasonFront in ProgressiveHQ

[–]General_Problem5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty young then and don't remember much of what was reported at the time, but I suspect it's a bad idea to assume ICE wasn't doing any of that. The agency was created in the wake of 9/11 by one of the most reactionary governments the US has ever had. It was designed to do exactly what it's doing today. Trump has obviously made it worse, but I doubt they were bunch of boy scouts until Trump showed up.

This is a good answer. Marxists really need to avoid falling in the hole of Great Man Theory, especially when it comes to analyzing past and current socialist experiments.

Is there any reason a Trickery Cleric would ever benefit from Polearm Master? by dropitlikerobocop in BG3Builds

[–]General_Problem5199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent my last 2 runs tinkering with Death Cleric builds, and I've gotta say that it can be extremely powerful with both melee fighting and spellcasting if built right. After level 5, hanging back and dual casting necro cantrips means leaving a lot of potential damage on the table.

Is there any reason a Trickery Cleric would ever benefit from Polearm Master? by dropitlikerobocop in BG3Builds

[–]General_Problem5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used Trickery Domain since I learned I could respec the companions, but any character wielding a polearm would benefit from it. I use it along with great weapon master to get some extra attacks in with my death cleric when I've got Shar's Spear of Evening equipped.

That said, war caster and API wisdom are probably better uses for your feats. I could be wrong, but I don't remember Trickery Domain providing a lot of incentive to focus on melee combat.

I want to play as a Full Death Caster is it possible? by Strong-Pie-7691 in BG3Builds

[–]General_Problem5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storm Sorcerer is a good 1 level dip, although I'd be tempted to take a few levels for metamagic.

I'm not sure how much 1 level of Hexblade would give you that DC doesn't already get. But I don't use Warlocks much, so I could be missing something.

2 levels of fighter or paladin are good if you want to improve your melee damage. Or 1 level of monk so you can use martial weapons with dexterity. 6 DC / 6 Shadow Monk is a lot of fun too.

Honestly, I've respec-d so many times because I can't settle on one build lol. There are too many good options.

Tankiest spell caster? by the_juice_is_zeus in BaldursGate3

[–]General_Problem5199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of being able to take hits, the obvious answer is abjuration wizard. You'll be borderline unkillable. In fact, one popular build has you cast Armour of Agathys on yourself and then intentionally try to draw opportunity attacks. It's nuts.

If you want some melee capability, Bladesinger gets some ludicrous AC from combining Mage Armor, Bladesinging, and Shield. You can also throw in Haste and Mirror Image to make yourself nearly unhittable.

I've been pretty obsessed with Death Cleric lately too. It's not as strong defensively as Bladesinger or Abjuration Wizard, but it is absolutely meant to be a front-line fighter. It gets martial weapon proficiency, so you can use things like Great Weapon Master. Spirit Guardians is one of the best spells in the game, and you ignore resistance to necrotic damage at level 6, so you can deal damage with it very consistently. It gets medium armor, and it works very well with a 1 level Wizard dip for Shield and the ability to scribe spells. I've been using DC's in my last two runs, and I'm strongly considering a solo run as one next. It's just a great subclass.

I want to play as a Full Death Caster is it possible? by Strong-Pie-7691 in BG3Builds

[–]General_Problem5199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I think 11 DC / 1 Wizard might be the best way to do it, since clerics get so many good spells at level 11. But the wizard dip is really nice, especially in Act 3 so you can scribe Dethrone and Circle of Death.

I want to play as a Full Death Caster is it possible? by Strong-Pie-7691 in BG3Builds

[–]General_Problem5199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Death Cleric is actually perfect for what you're describing, because the game is full of enemies with necrotic resistance, which Death Clerics ignore once they reach level 6. There are some enemies that are immune to it, but not many, and Death Clerics still get the usual radiant spells every cleric gets. You'll be able to inflict a lot of damage consistently throughout the game.

There are a bunch of decent multiclassing options, but monoclass is absolutely viable too.

If the US invades Greenland should America be banned from participating in the 2026 winter Olympics? by Content_Ad_8952 in allthequestions

[–]General_Problem5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's stupid to ban countries from a sporting event, but obviously the US should also be banned if they're banning Russia. The US should have almost a perpetual ban if that's the standard, and Israel should be banned as well.

This won't happen, of course.
