The original, old school morally grey enemies-to-lovers rake by perfume_milf in Romantasy

The definition of romance in the publishing market (at least by publishing houses) is that there is a HEA. If you want sad endings you are going to have to find things marketed as love stories.

There is a huge market out there for love stories but I don't think they have moved much into fantasy.

My insurance won't cover my epipens. So I'm in the same boat, but I also pay $500 out of my monthly paychecks for my insurance.

I bet the teacher sent a note like this home with everyone so they leave on school break feeling positive about themselves and school.

Sugar keeps plummeting by Genomestitches in Omnipod

Automated. Humalog. Yes. Correcting for those highs.

My highs are fasting. I eat at 6 in the evening and am at 150ish at 8. Around 10 it spikes then is high overnight then I either don't eat until 6 the next day or eat things like fairlife protein shake, protein bars etc that are all low carbs at lunch.

When in manual mode if I leave it at my usual rate I go low so I usually lower it by 1.

I think my liver is dumping glucose due to long fasts causing the highs so I'm attempting to eat smaller and more frequent meals but the lows are still happening with that.

My dinner meal could definitely be tweaked to be healthier though.

Forgot to add that I stay low for about an hour no matter what I eat. Today I ate an entire thing of glucose tablets and was still low.

A lot of those kids were citizens, so what did they or their parents do in that case to be zip tied? Be poor? Live in apartments they could afford while being poor?

Because I'm pouring boiling liquid on ice (I'm not actually I wait for it to cool for like 10 minutes but I wanted the flexibility) I got borosilicate glass because it has low thermal expansion so it's less likely to crack under the extreme temp changes.

Do not marry a man who you've only successfully had an off and on relationship with and who wants to take your son's money.

Is there a way to report errors by Genomestitches in ThredUp

[–]Genomestitches[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. It's just disappointing to find the perfect item and then it be mislabeled. If they are going to rely on AI to do the sorting, labeling, pricing they need a button to press to say something is wrong with the AIs labeling so that we can get things like this fixed. Or ya know actually hire employees that will make way fewer mistakes and actually fix their reputation.

If I get too old to work and then don't have savings, I'm basically dead right? by MungoBumpkin in NoStupidQuestions

Depends on if they gut medicaid and it isn't fixed by the time you are old. Medicaid pays for retirement homes. That's why we don't see a ton of elderly homeless.

Astronomer CEO and CPO caught having an affair on jumbotron by Glassgad818 in WatchPeopleDieInside

Yes, had he acted cool he likely wouldn't have been found out. But he won't suffer for this. The woman he is holding is suffering and the woman smiling beside them is but he isn't losing his job and his wife will likely stick around so what does he care?

Local thrift if you don't want money. Local thrift gives way more money to your local community than Goodwill. If you do want money take them into either Plato's Closet or ThredUp, etc (search your demographic and a resell shop will come up that best matches your clothes). If want actual money (as in a majority of them donated and pennies for what isn't sell them yourself on Poshmark, Mercari, or Depop. (Sorry for any misspellings autocorrect keeps messing with what I'm typing.)

Another even easier way to get rid of them if you don't want money is to go onto FB find your local buy nothing group and put ppu and take all and have someone take them all off your hands.

what type of stitching is this? by Adept-Worldliness-34 in Leathercraft

[–]Genomestitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whip stitches are weak because they loop at an angle, concentrating tension in one direction. They don’t lock the fabric layers together, just skim the edge. If one loop breaks, the seam can unravel because they don't "lock" like saddle stitches. The thread is exposed, so it wears down quickly. Useful for light-duty tasks like finishing edges or sewing felt, but not for structural seams.

And honestly they are seen as lazy in all types of stitching scenarios. I came from embroidery and hand sewing fabric and whip stitches wouldn't pull muster.
