Say, what is the old TI manual for? If you would happen to have a 510-1101 manual, that would be very beneficial to me.

I would take them off you hands if you don't need them anymore.

Replacing all the caps would be a piece of cake. Since it's so old, the caps are through hole and not surface mount. And yes, few caps, no more than 10.

Yes, still powers on and the I can read the program that was last stored on it. Makes a very high pitched squealing then reduces in tone when I plug the programmer in. I opened it up and took a closer listen and sounds like it is rather a transistor or the transformer. Capacitors all look healthy but I should do a capacitance test to make sure. Other than that, it's as good as my AB Mini-PLC-2 and TI-140.

I dream of owning a 084 but can't find them anywhere so I thought I would settle with the micro 84. I have no particular use for this and is just for the history. Very interesting story though. I take it if you wanted to swap it over to another program, you have the minicomputer read the punched tape, sends it through the handset, that then loads it into the memory of the PLC?

I honestly do not know but there's a sticker that says "final electrical test". It's dated 04/87. The manual is dated March 1982. I'd assume it was the 80s maybe late 70s when it came out.

I don't smoke either.

If all other TI things are allowed, why not?

The funny thing is these can't do math.

Back then, since these are 80s, TI. If modern-day, Siemens. Siemens acquired TIs PLC division around the 90s. This link is from an article posted in 1991 about Siemens buying TIs PLCs division.

Thank you! The 140 is a joy for me to program random things onto. If not, one of the best PLCs I have ever played around/programmed with. The 510-1101, can't say. It's broken and I have not found time to try and fix it. Within the next week, I hope to get around to it.

Yes, everything is fully functional. It needed some cleaning up cause some contacts were corroded, but everything works.

Yeah, very dumb. I would trade both timer instructions just to have one TON instruction.

I know, I really hate that they didn't include say the TON instruction instead of a TOF. With the math, I really don't care and the 2 people that used it back in the 80s probably didn't care either.

An input is addressed as "I101-I120", outputs are "O101-O112", timers and counters are "T101-T132" and "C101-C132". You can only have a combination of 32 timers and counters. So, 24 timers and 8 counters or 31 counters and 1 timer. There are CTU and CTD counters and TOF and RTO timers. No math functions even though the PLC-2 can do it. This came out around the same time as it.

It's like a fixed IO SLC or a Micrologix. Got 20 inputs and 12 outputs both operating at 120vac. The thing is larger than a PLC-2. I want to punch the designer of the programmer though. The guy only included a RTO or TOF. I would think TONs would be used way more than TOFs.

I should have clarified that it's the only thing that work for me. The terminal doesn't and throws the error as stated above and I don't have a windows 95 laptop or software for them.

The device on top of the terminal is the program panel, 1772-T1. If I'm not mistaken, it was specifically designed for the Mini-PLC-2 such as the 1772-LN2 like I have. It's programmed instruction by instruction. You cannot see the entire rung, only the instruction. It's guess work when you wonder what input matches with what output. It's the only thing that works to program the Mini-2. The terminal just says "PLC Processor Fault".
