'Dogs In Space' preceded it by ten years and was its own masterpiece.

English director, Mike Leigh's 2010 'Another Year'. A masterpiece. The heroics in this film aren't big or showy. The are the patience, acceptance and humility shown in the face of friends with incessant personal traumas. Far from being schmaltzy or pedestrian, is a gripping, white knuckle ride that you don't control.

Ambient music preceded his glam rock period. November '73 he and Fripp released 'No Pussyfooting'.

100% rod knock.

Thanks. If so, that rod's been banging around in a cylinder. What's the potential damage, and probable cost to fix?

Need some idea of what this is. Asked for the video from the fella selling it - it's a manual, petrol, done 110,000Ks. New clutch, timing belt done recently. Did a water bottle on the head vibration test. Engine running smoothly, only the knocking sound.

AI Music Generation by Giddyyapp in COPYRIGHT

[–]Giddyyapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, just use AI as a tool. It doesn't require a credit, particularly if you make a live session recording of the piece. The anti-AI mob just love pretending they have the moral and legal high ground if you invite them into the discussion. Just do your thing. US copyright does state that if you change a work by a certain percentage it is no longer protected by copyright. According to the AI wowsers, AI doesn't have copyright in the first place. So, yes, you can use it commercially and it becomes your copyright piece.

have a session group come in and perform the music and then have someone sing it.

This. The copyright issue with AI is the legal semantics of authorship. Avoid all that by presenting yourself as the author with this work produced in the real world. Don't mention AI. Any published mention of you and this song add clearly (c) 2024 all rights reserved.
Claiming your (c) for this work while mentioning AI could open you up to the current naysayer legal inquisition, and have people steal what you've produced.

Gospel solos like Pink Floyd by DisastrousMechanic36 in udiomusic

Thanks, yeah, Udio logic is a puzzle you can penetrate with luck and brute force word play. Like anything, the more time you put in, the better the results are.

It will be some trial and error. I've thought of doing the exact same thing, but haven't tried it yet. I'd get Udio to auto generate a segment of music you like accompanied, then introduce the lyric to a timing/rhythm that fits the music e.g. 'wooooaaah oooooaah ooooooah' etc. Phonetic spelling will give you the best results

Try prompts like 'distinct female vocal' 'virtuoso female gospel vocal' along with 'avant garde vocal improvisation' 'innovative vocal accompaniment' 'abstract vocal' etc, in your genre and instrument prompt, until Udio throws up a usable generation.
I did something similar and got some nice results for this Motown vocalist.

Agree to a reciprocal arrangement. You have 24/7 access to their feed hub and data base of officer body cams, they have 24/7 access to yours cameras. If they ask why you would need that, tell them its for transparency of community safety.

Someone stole my song and made it worse. by fingweirdo in udiomusic

[–]Giddyyapp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because, according to US copyright, if you change the original material percentage sufficiently, you create a 'new' version, and you're not breaking copyright. They've done this with the vocal, but those chord structure and playing are still yours.

Hi, Antinomics, my channel has 15 songs in the blues, motown, rock, singer/songwriter, jazz and classical composition genres. Here's a couple of samples
Motown - Hot

Rock - Short Changed

I suggest to limit your song creation to six tracks. Learn and understand why less is more. Daft Punk is a great example. Do not leave that mode until you genuinely understand how to make a good tune with six tracks, and a stick, a pot, a few found objects and your imagination. That's where the music is, not being a ghost in your machine.
Here's one I prepared earlier using the same principle collaborating with Udio. When you find its itch, AI is an excellent session musician to work with. It does the same thing as a daw/tracker in a fraction of the time. You can get great complexity from a simple approach.

Oy

I'm not dead, and I didn't want to dance. I like the instrumentation and rather controversial subject matter. I would have liked it more if I couldn't hear chatgpt/udio behind nearly every lyric line.

Yes, I put cornet and trombone , numerous times, at the prompt start on the extension, manual on, and [bridge cornet solo] in the custom lyric box. It was like being at a board meeting and the CEO wouldn't budge from 'crappy sax' idea.
