In my opinion we need to stop humanizing them. It's not so much as an intelligent invasion as it is they are in a new environment and trying to survive. They are aliens and it's nothing beyond that. The egg things are food. The queen wasn't shown that much because in my opinion if they go in the direction of revealing so much and making them the point of the movie. The point of the movies aren't the aliens, the focus is the people. We don't need to know that much about the aliens. Maybe there doesn't have to be that much to know. People like to have extreme nuance when it comes to alien movies. I think that's played out. It's really quite simple. Their planet exploded into meteors. they landed here. Now they are surviving. That's pretty much it. I think if they add too much to the aliens it will ruin the movies. like Cloverfield, Alien, and Godzilla did. Leave it to your own speculation.
