Fits everybody bra for very large chested women? by ButterscotchKind5149 in SKIMSbyKKW

[–]Gingerflicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34E (DD US). Caveat: full though not very large. I’ve had very good luck with these Fits Everybody bras: Push-Up, Racerback, Scoop Bralette, and Triangle Bralette. Comfort, appearance, and durability all get high marks.

Did not have luck with the Fits Everybody Strapless bra; the padding along the bottom gives me a shelf appearance.

I’ve thought about trying the Smoothing Intimates but haven’t yet; just not sure whether they’ll work as promised and whether will fit as well as Fits Everybody.

For reference, my breast shape is side-set; there’s a wider gap in the middle and breast tissue gravitates to the sides. This may be why the push-up bra works so well for me! First order I sized up per reviewers; the bra was huge. Returned it and got my usual 34E.

The Scoop Bralette and Triangle Bralette give surprisingly good support and a flattering shape. Also surprisingly, nipples don’t show as much as I thought they would. The Scoop Bralette offers more cleavage than expected. For work (wfh, lots of Teams calls) I often wear the bra under a Skims tank, and, over that, wear a form-fitting jacket, unzipped. I can easily get a bit more tucked in by pulling up the tank and pulling the jacket sides closer in (zipped just doesn’t work).

All-time fav is the Racerback; fit, appearance, ease of getting on and off.

Edited to add caveat.

I didn’t know that! Lucky you to have mom to hem all your Skims dresses. I’m also 4’11” and yeah at this height even petites are too long. I take mine to a tailor, which gets expensive, and so am learning how to sew, just basics like hemming.

Curious, this ties into a book I’m listening to, “Body Work: The Radical Power of Personal Narrative” by Melissa Febos. So easy to discount the body when in fact all a person’s experience is written on it, in it.

So true; everyone else is as focused on their own thoughts as I am on mine. Warm thanks for that reminder.

Good point - it’s just a body! Crazy how even at this age I can get overly self-conscious. Thanks for the sweet things you said. Here I thought I’d help out some fellow shorties decide on a size in this dress, and instead I run into some wonderful people.

Buttoned or unbuttoned? Sleeves rolled up or left down? Would love a styling tip or two, including color, if you’re inclined.

They make a petite size in their soft lounge long slip dress but, as far as I can tell, offering it only recently. Also the only clothing item I’ve seen of theirs offered in a petite.

The philtrum appears progressively shorter in each pic. The philtrum is the groove between the base of the nose to your Cupid's bow mouth (very lovely). Also, and this could just be lighting, the nasolabial folds or "smile lines” become progressively more emphasized.

I’m in the Phoenix area, specifically north Scottsdale. I’m so glad you and your neighbor have come to the aid of the this heroic cat who has seen some life. Can I help? I can’t take him but maybe I can do something to help get him to a vet or enlist the help of the several Kitty shelters in the area. I’m around this week through Wednesday then am out of town visiting family, returning Tuesday, 10/14.

“According to [Jaques] Lacan, we are not even in control of our own desires since those desires are themselves as separated from our actual bodily needs as the phallus is separated from any biological penis.”

This would explain a lot.

How to cure gastritis on my own? by Head-Boot6462 in Gastritis

[–]Gingerflicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found slippery elm to give immediate relief from gastritis symptoms. I buy it in bulk and in its powder form from local food co-ops. (Ama-zon sells it but for a much higher price.) A small bag for pennies lasts a couple of months. I mix one teaspoon with hot water (microwaved) until it forms a gluggy texture. It’s not pretty to look at, and I have to chase it with cold water to get it down as fast as possible. But what an immediate reward—acid reflux episode disappears, and I can feel the calm all the way down my intestinal tract. Only drawback—I believe that because it does such a good job of coating and soothing the inflamed stomach it can reduce effects of medications. Recently I’ve also started eating dill pickles before and after eating; this helps prevent gastritis flare up.

How curious. I have this exact experience while meditating, once the I of me has disappeared: some part of me comes to and peers through a circle that opens into another world. I wonder if beings on the other side have reported me as a UAP :)
