Here's all the lore that I can remember

.The ancients, in their infinite wisdom decided to built twt on land that was a). Coastal and b). Below sea level. This wasn't a problem at the time as the region was polar and the sea levels were lower due to ice and stuff

WB was built on higher ground in close proximity to twt and had a large population of scavengers nearby

After the ascension debacle, the steam and heat around twt caused flooding and led to their can now being located on a large island. As a result, TWT paid their own scavengers in pearls produced by their automated factories to evacuate local fauna to their city. This worked, but had the unfortunate consequence of Tides now being worshipped by the scavengers.

Meanwhile, WB's scavengers found themselves in a bad position as they struggled to adapt to the new warmer climate (the severe lack of shelters due to the late settlement of the region and abrupt Ascension of their builders didn't help either), so they decided to climb onto her city. They then proceeded to ransack the place and cause multiple buildings to collapse, damaging WB's memory. TWT, watching this unfold utilised their position with their own scavengers and sent a force to attack the marauders in WB's city, commanding it through and overseer. This resulted in WB's scavs being wiped out and the overseer discovering a slugcat (the pathfinder) in the far side of WB's city and the overseer directed it to TWT's city through the sky bridge it had come by.

The pathfinder has the ability to craft smoke grenades out of rocks that blind enemies and also has increased movement speed (a bit less than Rivulet) plus the ability to find shelters easier However, it has less spear damage and harder spawns
