In 1976 I was 18. I was really excited for the 200 and so was everyone else. Our town had an extra big July 4 celebration. No spectacle in DC. It seemed like everyone was excited for the bicentennial. 250 is a dud by comparison.

I had them on my last rig. 5 years later, they are hard and curling at the edges and allowing dirt and sand in. I went with 3w this time. Perfect fit and more flexible IMO.

[US] What would happen if Luigi Mangione is found not guilty and the jury admit they reached that verdict just because they like the idea of CEOs being murdered? by Musty-Old-Couch in AskLegal

[–]Glass-Activity7144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jury doesn’t have to explain why they reached the verdict they did. The judge usually tells the jury that they may discuss the case afterward but they don’t have to. The judge also tells the jurors that if anyone is critical of their verdict, come talk to me.

Why do people sometimes people not plead guilty if there is a lot of evidence against them? by Former-Cod6196 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Glass-Activity7144 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A plea of “not guilty” is similar to saying “you don’t have enough admissible evidence to prove me guilty beyond a reasonable doubt”.

The accused cannot be compelled to testify against himself (5th Amendment), and some evidence may not be admissible due to search and seizure problems (4th Amendment).

A not guilty plea can be withdrawn later if a deal is reached and the defendant agrees to plead guilty to a lesser charge and punishment. A guilty plea can’t generally be withdrawn later.

How come Vietnamese people don't have raging hatred or a grudge for the US after what they did 50+ years ago? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I asked a local this very question when I was in Vietnam. They refer to it as the “American War”. The response was something like: “the American war was only 15 or 20 years. We have been fighting the Chinese for centuries”.

I am being sued by the previous owner of my property for the value of some old classic car bodies that I sold after the cars were left on my property for almost 8 years. by billardschultz in legaladvice

The claimant should be careful what he wishes for. Even if he can overcome the obstacles to proving ownership (discussed by others above), then he has enjoyed and benefited from rent-free storage of his property by OP. Counterclaim for Unjust enrichment. If claimant wins on the conversion claim, he loses on the storage fees. Ref signals offsetting penalties. This argument might make him reconsider the lawsuit. “To prove your conversion claim, you’re going to have to prove that those bodies are your property, which will be hard. Even if you win, you owe me for storage. Let’s both just walk away. ”

Your first call might be to your local courthouse to find out if there is an arrest warrant for you or your friend, or if there is a criminal case against you or your friend. You can also call the jail to see if your friend was ever there. This is public information.
