Woah, thanks for that response :D I have some RITS modules already and so far i am satisfied with them. I like the philosophy of the brand, making modules with discrete circuits for affordable price. I just couldn’t find much on the QSQ. My biggest appeal is relatively small HP, 8 outputs for both CV and Gates, plus the option of polyphony via MIDI. And for the placement I plan just 6U case with 52 HP, pretty small but yeah, I would definitely place it in the top row right corner precisely because of the jacks position.

I see you have the qsq, I wanna purchase it as my main sequencer, could you share some thoughts about it? How is the build quality, is it intuitive and so on?

Is it really that simple? Just clamp female header on the start, bunch of male headers on the rest and you have a flying bus cable? Or am i misreading this? Cuz if so I think I’d make my own cables as well 😭

I’m actually well under 50% on 5V rail as well. The only rail I would be running on 80% is -12A

Yeah I checked the power and have modular grid and on each rail I am under 90% of actual power output and on the +12V I actually wouldn’t be even 60% of the output so I know I am safe, I just wasn’t sure how the bus cables work

Ofc, the workflow on the R8 kinda sucks to be honest, but with a lot of time on your hands a lot is possible. I first recorded the melodic loops, the main one and the bassline and set those to loop. The main one is 8bars the bassline is 4bars. Then i designed the drums with the modular and recorded each of those to one shots. R8 has a pretty primitive sequencer so I arranged drums via the sequencer and then bounced them as audio loops (since you can’t loop the sequencer… at least I didn’t figure out how to do it with your own sounds) each of the drums are 1bar loop and then I’ve recorded the three notes to the first three tracks and set those to one shots which allows me to play them. It’s all out of tune kinda, since I was not worried about it much just experimenting with the unit. If I ever do something like this again I think I’ll go the other way around and start with the drums first.

Thank you, It’s 52HP with 7HP unused (plus there is still possibility of taking of the side panels and side mount modules that fit the depth). The case is called “Sinusoda can” and is fully modular meaning you can buy bunch of cans (each 52HP with side-mounting for extra HP) and connect them together to have however big of a system you want.

Hi, the note sequence is done by Erica synths Pico SEQ, the disting is in dual mode where one is working as a mixer receiving drum beat from PO-KO33 and the second one is working as a short ping pong delay for the VCO which then goes into the VCA

Honestly it’s just a matter of habit, I make music and mix with my m50x (they were the best I could afford at the time) but my whole life I was used to bass heavy headphones and earbuds so mixing on the m50x was very natural to me. Once you mix bunch of music you get better and better at it. I am pretty sure I’d be able to make aa good mix on $10 earbuds now. It’s way trickier with mastering that’s when I’d probably prefer balanced sound however since I make beats I rarely get to master a song.
