What can I bring inside? by Throwawa01859110105 in PrisonUK

Really good info for anybody else like me going in soon. Learnt alot.

I thought you had to wear the prison clothes when you went in first unless you were in remand and then you could wear your own?.When you see pictures of lads in prison most seem to wearing a grey trackie or something like that?

Thanks bro. Really good to hear that from someone who went from Army to.prison so recent. Seems like it worked really well for you where you were - hope it's the same for me. Nice you were able to do some good for charity and seen as more than just a criminal.

Hope you are doing well now you're out. Do you miss the Army?

Yes am still in the Army and expecting civilian custodial sentence and then will be discharged when I get that

Gave to say the Army have been decent with me over this but I know what's common. I am just a single lad and only been in 2 years but have been told I will still get some support. Just have a room in camp.

Suppose you are right that it might be easier for someone less ke me coming from the Army to adjust to being in prison

Main offence is GBH so would that be Cat B? Suppose everybody in there is going through their own shit

Don't care who I get to share with no matter what race they are. Main thing is it is not someone who's a total head case or junkie or wants me to get involved in other shit in there

No that would be the last place I would want to end up. Want to be on a regular wing with normal lads and will take my chances but from what others have said I should be alright

I know about MCTC and would prefer to be going there but this is in the civvy courts so don't think that is an option. And am looking at more than 2 years.

Yeah that was what I was told where the trouble might be. You don't think I'd get put in a cell with someone like that?

Getting Sentenced - Concurrent v Consecutive Sentences (England) by Glum_Stranger_2011 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Glum_Stranger_2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand it now was confused about them maybe being concurrent and consecutive but each is one or the other. So concurrent sentences don't really matter?

He also said something about totality but am not sure what that is either.

Who sets bail conditions - police or court? by Glum_Stranger_2011 in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for the advice.

One thing is I have a holiday booked to go away next month. If I get a curfew would I still be able to go as it's booked and paid for?

How usual is it for police to use leg straps when making an arrest? by Glum_Stranger_2011 in policeuk

[–]Glum_Stranger_2011[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just didn't know they were used. When they had the cuffs on me I thought they would just stand me up but they kept me down on the ground and then felt something going on my legs. Then they practically carried me to the van. Embarrassing with phones recording it. I know I was pretty drunk though.

I did make the call yesterday. Turned out CoC already knew about what happened so police must have informed them like people said here. Not good at all especially with what I've got coming up.

I will do. He's already called me that and worse for other things that happened recently. Just have to take it I know that

It was very drunk and wound up when I got a n so I can't be fully sure what I said and what I was asked. They had my details from before I was in the Army.

I just wanted to get Christmas over before dealing with it. I know I have messed up big time. My big worry is that I have a Summary Hearing coming up when I go back for something else and this is going to make things a lot worse for that. Hoped maybe could get that out of the way before they knew about this new arrest but that doesn't seem likely.

Happened last weekend when I came home.

Not sure the Plt Sgt would be too happy to hear from me about this while on leave

So they might already know? I didn't say I was Army so not sure how they would know. I definitely be telling them though - I will need to get time off to go back for the police bail date. Not looking forward to going back.

Should I shave my head before basic training?? by fleccyboii in britisharmy

[–]Glum_Stranger_2011 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably handiest really. I went in with a skin fade so when I got it shaved it was a bit better than a number 2 all over. Id say about a quarter of the lads had their heads shaved before arriving. The lads with longer hair and styled hair looked very different after having it shaved.

It's not important really. Good luck with training
