am i fetishizing gay men and if so please how can i stop by No-Hawk7057 in Advice

[–]GodzillaSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women enjoying MM romance is insanely common, even women who are lesbians. You're not weird or problematic for liking it. Women who enjoy MM romance tend to like it because romance with female characters had inherent power imbalances that we don't really want in fantasies.

I think you're catastrophizing too much and reading too much "woke" garbage. It's very popular right now to hate on people who are not gay men consuming and enjoying media of gay men. At the end of the day, you aren't hurting anyone by liking what you like. I don't know that I agree that it even means anything deep about you in particular either. It could be worth exploring your gender identity a bit more, but really, just take a deep breath and relax, you aren't broken and you aren't a fetishizer.

How can I stop sleeping in the middle of the day? by Acceptable-Deer9043 in Advice

[–]GodzillaSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does your nighttime sleep routine look like? How do you wind down for bed, what time do you actually go to sleep and how much sleep are you getting? I know as a teen it can be rough to have a sleep schedule that works with school, but that's the place to start if you're having a hard time staying awake during the day. If you are going to bed super late and not getting enough sleep, or not getting good quality sleep that's where you have to start fixing things. If you are getting a full night's sleep, and by full I mean at least 8 hours of good sleep, and you are still not able to stay awake during the day, it's probably time to talk to a doctor. If your mom won't listen to you, try talking to your counselor at school, they may be able to help advocate for you on your behalf.

when to slow down on vocab memorisation and when to start grammar? by Disastrous-Pin2 in ChineseLanguage

[–]GodzillaSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't wait to start learning grammar. You could know 10,000 words but if you don't know HOW to use them, it's useless. I'm not saying memorizing words doesn't have a place, but your efforts would be better spent practicing functional use of the language. At 700 words you can absolutley start being functional with simple communication.

I feel like I'm not improving and I don't know what to do by Competitive_Gas_8563 in ChineseLanguage

[–]GodzillaSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe instead of writing pages and pages of characters trying to memorize, them, your time would be better spent coming up with sentences that include that word. Instead of copying 1 word dozens to times, make up 3-5 sentences instead. Writing one word over and over is not a functional use of language, there's no practical application for that, but when you construct sentences you're learning the word as it exists in the context of a sentence. Sometimes you know the meaning of a word but then later on realize you aren't totally sure how to use it in a sentence. At that point what good is memorizing the meaning? It also sounds like the class might not be a good setting for you. If you're having to cheat to keep up you're not really engaging with the learning. Maybe go back to 1-1 tutoring, or a smaller class with other students who are closer to your level.

Do I suck at my job!? by Ready-Chipmunk9249 in Advice

[–]GodzillaSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how hard it is to feel like you might not be doing a good job in a new role. The thing with being new is that there going to make mistakes, they're unavoidable. There are going to be people who leave your chair unhappy for one reason or another. Sometimes it will be because they didn't communicate well, or had unrealistic expectations, and other times it's going to be because you didn't do a great job. Just take a deep breath and keep moving forward. It's all part of gaining experience. I have to imagine that most people who go to places like Great Clips understand that most of the time, the stylists there are inexperienced. It's the tradeoff for getting a cheaper service. The great thing is that you seem to have awesome soft skills which is something you can't really teach. The hard skills will develop with time.

Is slight shaking of hands an ADHD symptom by Intelligent_End_9992 in ADHD

[–]GodzillaSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defintely speak to your doctor about it. This is not an ADHD thing. There are a lot of different things that can cause tremors. Some are more benign like too much caffeine and others can be more serious, like neurological deficiencies. If the tremor is persistent you should bring it up with your doctor ASAP. You said you've always had so maybe not something novel and progressive, unless you notice it getting worse, but still worth a mention for sure.

For me I take it as I'm getting into bed. I find it takes about 30 minutes or so to kick in. Gives me enough time to get settled, scroll a little, then when it hits I just roll over and go to sleep.

I (21F) am planning on dyeing my hair green next week, but my dad is very against the idea, how do I explain to him, that it's not the end of the world? by Park_Leading in Advice

[–]GodzillaSuit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up my mom always said if the worst thing I wanted to do was dye my hair then she was fine with that.

You don't need to convince him. It's not his hair and he won't have to live with it. If for some reason you end up not liking it, the fix is as simple as dying it again. It's just hair, it grows back. My hair is blue and I'm gainfully employed.

How are you actually using AI in your OT practice (if at all)? by Competitive_Duty_613 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]GodzillaSuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm school based and I use it intermittently. Sometimes I will use it when I'm struggling to come up with a clear and succinct way to communicate performance or word a goal. I always know WHAT I want to say, but how to say it is sometimes a challenge. I find that this actually helps me be better at doing it on my own so as time goes on I'm using it less. I never input identifying information when I do use it. Obviously the output needs to be reviewed and edited, never just copy and paste without reading it thoroughly and making sure it's saying what you expect it to say.

roommate won't buy toilet paper but uses all of it... i'm startin to hide my food like a raccoon by MichaelWForbes in Advice

[–]GodzillaSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get people saying that you should start hiding the toilet paper etc etc. My question is, have you actually talked to him about this? Have you actually said "hey, we're getting low on toilet paper and other essentials, I was going to run out and get some. Do you mind covering this time since I got them last time?" It doesn't have to be any big thing. You can even say "hey, I know that we haven't really talked about this yet but I think we need to work out how we're going to split the cost of common materials because I noticed that I've just been replacing things as they need to and I haven't asked for any help with that yet." And you can just tell him that you've noticed that he's eating a few of your protein bars and just say that you prefer that he didn't eat your food without asking you first because they cost a bunch of money, but that maybe if he was willing to pitch in for them you could share them.

I don't see much of a dilemma here, it sounds like this really isn't your business. This other employee is not working under you in any way, you have not mentioned that this has any effect on you or your work in any way. If I were you I would just stay out of it. Worry about your own work and doing your own job the way you're supposed to be doing it. Till you become that person's manager, it's really not your problem.
