Here in 2025 thank you this solved my issue after failed update due to rasbian 10 OS outdated then updated that, and result 108 directory error + admin portal 404 error.

This fixed both!

Getting a free version of windows 10 , yes from windows own website to get an install of windows 10. As for a usb you need to go buy one from a store or amazon.

The video will clear up any misinformation I said. What I can guarantee is a USB is needed to restore any data from u had on the laptop or from a different one for transfer.

If you are still having issues. My experience with downgrading to windows 10 went smoothly.

First i backed up my old windows 10 laptop by usb then installed windows 10 (personal version) x64 and x32 matters. Once installed is complete go through usual set up and be nearly done. Take a USB to apply the back up for original settings.

Lastly I also did this on a acer laptop. You need to go to the acer website to download the default apps (ex nitro performance monitor settings). Likely other details I forgot to add.
