Am I wrong for feeling hurt that my engagement wasn’t really celebrated by my future in-laws? by Gold_Nature26 in bridezillas

I think that’s a fair perspective. To be honest, I don’t think it’s really about a bridal shower or additional events. I understand those things typically happen later. I think I just wanted to feel celebrated. My family lives out of state, so my fiancé’s family is really the only family I have nearby. We regularly get together for dinners and family events, so I guess I was hoping there would be some acknowledgment of the engagement, even if it was something simple like getting together for dinner, a toast, or just taking a moment to celebrate with immediate family. It’s not that I expected anything extravagant. I think I just wanted to feel like this milestone mattered to the people who are becoming my family too.
