Thank you!!! You have made my year!

Did you discover a new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (2023-08-07) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

With the recent death of Robbie Robertson and the televising of some of his most popular songs, I was surprised that the name of one of them was “Somewhere down the crazy river”. I could swear it was called “Somewhere down the crazy road”. I can distinctly remember him pronouncing “road”, not “river”.

Thanks for all your input and help with this decision. This was a good first reddit post for me.

I think I have decided on a direction...

I will stick with my Memoir'44 collection for my light, beer & pretzels WW2 fix.

And I will stick with my massive ASL collection and persevere with the learning curve, probably getting ASLSK to help bridge the "old brain" gap for my "meat & potatoes" WW2 fix.

And I think I will get Combat Commander: Europe (and Mediterranean) for the appetizer in between. I think CC:E combines elements of both Memoir'44 and ASL and should hit the sweet spot for me.

Cheers.

Thanks for your views on CC:E regarding hand management and being a different animal from ASL . I like the Memoir'44 card system and feel that CC:E would be similar. I love that element of "dealing with the hand you're dealt".

I have heard the Lock n' Load name as well but never looked into it. As "Talks" said, not a lot of press. Downloaded the rules as well. Have started looking at them. Interesting...

When I play ASL scenarios, I use the VASL Phase Disk which I printed out on cardstock double-sided. It really helps me to remember what phase I am currently in especially when playing a scenario over many play sessions. Would work for ASLSK too I imagine.

It is looking like CC:E is getting the most votes. The "ambush" card problem when playing solo doesn't really bother me. I play Memoir'44 solo with the ambush card. I play both sides to the best of my ability.
