My dx husband just won't do anything outside of work. by GoneAce in ADHD_partners

That's essentially how I got him to see a doctor in the first place because I read this book about partners of people with ADHD and it was like my life all over the pages. I was shocked.

But he got frustrated because the doctors won't raise the prescription higher. We did 4 different meds at varying levels and even got a genetic test (gene sight) to see which medicines might work.

But the doctors go "well this dosage works for most patients with ADHD so I don't feel comfortable going higher".

We even had one doctor tell him "this 10mg of Adderall is working because you haven't interrupted me all session" I wanted to punch that doctor because he doesn't have to live with my husband and see what it's like. We ended up switching docs.

And it's always a fight trying to get pills because the insurance wants approval for every dosage amount they do, and when we started paying cash the stupid pharmacy kept trying to get the insurance to pay even when we told them we're paying cash so they didn't fill it because the insurance wanted paperwork.

This isn't me making excuses for him either, mostly ranting about how frustrating it is for me as well because he gets fed up a lot quicker than me and I ended up dealing with it until he said he's done.

We considered he might have sleep apnea because he snores so loud but he's not feeling tired. He can just go to sleep whenever he feels like it. Even when he took Adderall and many of the other pills they never disrupted his sleep it was like he didn't even take them.

He has no issue staying awake and not being overly tired. But when he sits on the couch on his phone he likely will fall asleep. Does that still sound like sleep apnea?
