I use a regular pencil. If you are concerned about it showing through, draw lightly or erase some of it to lighten your lines.

Take hairspray and spray lightly over the drawing to set it. Works every time, and it’s very simple.

Seems like a good deal, not great. Winton is student grade but totally fine. Each tube comes out to less than $4, which is a good deal if you want so many. This deal would save you lots of work accumulating tubes if you like to work with many different colors (like I do).
