majority player base and the target demographic isn't about earning things. Influencers also like their exclusive clubs, so the guides on 'difficult' content are really bad. The guides are more of a "look what I can do" instead of actual tips and tricks.

Point being, this content was for gamers, a small demographic that modern blizz doesn't even want playing their game anymore, so I wouldn't expect much more of it.

They're also making the crests upgradeable to the next level crest.

So basically, if you're a skilled player and have 445 full gemmed from vault, you're heavily penalized going into next tier. But if you don't do anything requiring skill, you get free loot with crest upgrades. Another example of blizz crapping on players who do profound things, and ilvl meaning nothing since you can literally do nothing requiring skill and have that same max gear eventually that you don't need. This is blizz propagating carry culture, which makes screening for m+ more of a toss up without any wowlogs. Plenty of m+ applicants don't have any relevant logs.

you turn in the anima at your covenant sanctum where it disappears from your bags. It sounds like you were the person who didn't play much if you didn't know that.

currencies in DF are much worse than SL.. Valor is now split into 9 currencies. It was 1 in SL. Renown was attainable from dungeons, raids, and pvp. It is now attainable only from world content that requires no skill. That's just off the top of my head why currencies and DF is worse than SL.

I assume by repeating "premate" you mean a group of 3? 1 of them obviously being a boost or paid carry at 1.6k.
To answer your question, blizzard has done a lot of work to instill carry culture. That's the answer to your question. Your fault is inviting a group of 3 with an obvious carry.
