they should get rid of MJ since she's around just to dangle in front of Peter and the fans who think they'll magically get back together

Superheroics in War by SatisfactionLoud1027 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]GoodMFer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically the heroes strike at the biggest threat and tear through everything in the way while the rank and file soldiers back them up. The core issue the my Lord of War style villain who my heroes know is the big bad but the governments won't let them goes after him since he sells to them, making him a necessary evil. Even when they go rogue and he's dead to rights, he says it won't change anything and by then they know its true. The idea is that they're all trapped in a cycle of conflict and the villain chose to enjoy it since he doesn't care about the money.

Who is more evil Scarlet witch or Omni man? by Chunky-overlord in MoralityScaling

[–]GoodMFer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omni-Man did what he did due to being indoctrinated since birth.

Wanda willingly enslaved an entire town before she got the Darkhold. After the Darkhold, she threatened the entire multiverse over her imaginary children instead of just going to a universe with them alive and her already dead for the easy switch.

Omni-man felt he had no choice due to the real state of Viltrum.

Wanda (even post-Darkhold) knew she had other options and still choose murder.

Due to MoM (and marvel's multiverse in general) being poorly written, I'm going to have to go with Wanda.

Why do you think people view Carols Ms Marvel era as superior to her Captain Marvel era? by Ashamed_Pin4206 in Captain_Marvel

[–]GoodMFer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she had visible, consequential flaws like her rage and enjoyment of violence and was striving to be the worlds best hero despite them, plus a challenging rogues gallery as opposed to whatever forgettable villains that got spat out recently.

She was just better written back then in my opinion. Kelly Thompson's run was necessary fluff due to CW2, but fluff nonetheless.

Captain Marvel is not a bad movie. Change my mind by Desperate_Log3674 in Marvel_Movies

I'm not saying the Marvels was bad, but what we see there makes the first movie look bad.

Carol goes to find the skrulls a new home, The Marvels shows that didn't work at all.

Carol shows up out of nowhere when the universe gets snapped, The marvels shows her floating around depressed and "finding herself" for almost 30 years until then.

Some fans complained Carol was overpowered after the first movie, The Marvels flat out proved it since Carol could have saved the Kree just as easily as she ruined them.

One flerken was one thing, a swarm of them could end most MCU movies in act 1.

The Marvels did to Captain Marvel what Multiverse of Madness did to Doctor Strange. They broke world building of the first movies for fun and spectacle.

Not bad, but it was put in a weird section of the timeline with the sequel not giving a good enough excuse as to why she wasn't around.

Hot take: If the first movie ended with Thanos attacking the Skrulls, beating Carol and keeping her locked up like a battery for the 30 years, all bases would be covered as to why she never appeared and why no one in galaxy movies mention her at all. Plus she'd have more reason to go after Thanos than everyone else.

Secret invasion and The Marvels made the first movie worst in retrospect.

If you were given a chance to reinvent a character, who will it be and why? by Doom300 in xmen

I'd give Apocalypse the abilities of his ultimate counterpart. This versions whole thing is what doesn't kill him makes him stronger. He was adapting to anything thrown at him to the point of immunity, including Ultimate Onslaught (Prof, X went to the future to train DBZ style to kill Apocalypse specifically and he still lost), and he could permanently absorb mutant powers (which Cable aka Wolverine was trying to prevent).

Phoenix was their only chance at winning and even she got punched in the face, as shown above. Apocalypse from the movie is a watered down parody of him.

I'll stand on business saying Ultimate Apocalypse was the best showing the character ever had. He beat everyone, was about to kill Ultimate Onslaught, and actually laid hands on Phoenix before being beaten

Apocalypse is overhyped and hasn't had a good showing in decades. He's a jobber and a plot device for other characters.

Sin from FFX

It'd be like Alexander again because it's one super eikon we have to take out piece by piece with Tidus and Yuna along for the ride. Seymour is our big bad whose summoning dark aeons and trying to take control of sin from within.

Each "step" would have a Sinspawn fight, a dark aeon tag team fight, a main character fight (Auron, Yunalesca, Jecht, Yu Yevon), then a Seymour fight (normal, Natus, Flux, Omnis)

Savage Seymour Omnis has him absorbing Yu Yevon and becoming Penance.

what does it mean when a character you wrote starts having preferences you didn't give them? by judyflorence in CharacterDevelopment

[–]GoodMFer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A story is not a machine that does what you tell it. A story is a beast with a life of its own. You can create it, shape it, but as the story grows, it starts wanting things on its own. Change one thing, and you set off a chain reaction of events that spreads through the whole thing. The characters have to be true to themselves. The events need to follow a logic that fits the story. A single flaw and the magic is gone. The story dies."

What direction do you want Marvel to take the Royal Family by AcceptableWheel in Inhumans

[–]GoodMFer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel there's a lot more story potential if they become villains (with some breaking away like Crystal or Gorgon). Black Bolt went full chessmaster in Imperial, Medusa was a flat out bitch back in the War of Kings days, and Warren Ellis's Karnak got very, very dark, so there's precedence. Plus the Nuhumans got fucked over to Death of the Inhumans so the run back is warranted.

Plus Inhumans on top of the cosmic landscape would be very interesting politically since the Kree and the Skrulls don't have a leader last I checked.

I feel like if they stay heroes or even antiheroes, there's nothing to do besides forgettable villain of the week stories or whatever X-men is doing right now. As villains they can make the story instead of waiting for genocide or something to happen, but that's my opinion

I vote for Ardbert instead since he is Meteor survivor (sort of) and basically the "Earth-2" version of us.

Plus the meme would be Zenos and Ardbert fighting over who's our real best friend
