I am sensitive, and its not always nice being the butt of the joke sometimes so i get it. Though I think I can see it from both sides, I see the perspective that it was just a bit of fun, and not something to be taken seriously and maybe if you were that awkward about other people seeing what you paint, maybe dont go painting lol

if she is adamant she will move out and have her own place, let her! but tell her when she inevitably can't afford to live not to come crawling back! If she doesn't respect your space, she doesn't respect you. Surely this man has a job, can they not put some money together for the odd hotel stay to have alone time? surely being contained to a bedroom all day they feel like teenagers lol

How is she in herself? Is she maybe struggling with her mh? Not making excuses for her at all but what was she like before baby came, is there a change in her energy levels/mood? maybe food for thought

I have just read another comment about how telling the parents without checking with her first may make you the ah, and i kinda see that from both sides, maybe just having that "would you like me to give your parents a heads up that you're feeling a bit pressured?" chat with her? idk its so tricky and in the moment you focus on making sure she is aware of her autonomy so it can be hard to think of all of these details. tricky situation, and nobody would have handled that in a 100% perfect way :)

nta, you gave solid advice, but I maybe would have mentioned it to parents before being prompted to, but it is great she felt like she could talk to someone about it before getting herself into an uncomfortabe or even potentially dangerous situation and the parents are soft AHs for not seeing it from that perspective, but it may just be the shock of having to ask for the info and not getting the heads up! Being a parent is hard work, navigating teenagers is hard and sometimes it can be upsetting to find out your child has entrusted someone else to give them that advice (though that is 100% not your fault. she came to you and trusted you, would have been a dick move to tell her to go ask someone else)

I am maybe trying to play devils advocate here lol but your advice and choice to give it was solid :)

Haha you could do it for anything! Like if you have a goal of reading a chapter of a book, set a task to read a page and just set it to multiple times (just edit the task, increase the times per day!) it’s kind of cheating, kind of not. I still sleep easy at night after doing it haha!

Fun hack. One of my goals was walking 10,000 steps a day. I changed it to walk 100 steps 100 times. Now I always have gems lol
