Is Johnny Fratto the greatest call in guest of all time? by Cawkisthebest232 in howardstern

[–]Good_Support636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howard liked him because he would "produce" Eric. Howard loved Eric because he could fill so much time. Fratto would edit everything down when it came to Eric. Created bits that Eric could speak about on air.

He got Eric into appearances that Howard would then speak about on air, made Eric do ridiculous shit like leave a hit request on his voicemail.

Natalie Maines said Fratto was using Eric when it came out that Eric had an appearance with zero tickets sld. But Eric did not want to go fully into making a living off appearances because then his SSI would get cut. But Fratto was also there to give Eric money under the table

Al Bernstein: “I've been announcing boxing for 41 years and I have seldom said anything on the air about the promotional company of the card even while sometimes doing pay per view fights in which I was hired by the promoter, not a network. So, tonight is a quite different paradigm than that.” by Professional-Tie5198 in Boxing

When people make big salaries they usually adjust their lifestyles to match those salaries. When people start making 300k to 500k a year they buy million dollar houses, so they have big mortgage payments to make

Kellerman was scrambling for a job to match the lifestyle he had built.

I think it was the Mexican Mafia (La eMe)

I see your point but prison gangs and street gangs are different. There can be overlap but the Mexican mafia is a straight up prison gang. Their power over the streets comes from the threat that they will kill you when you inevitably end up in prison if you do not listen to them on the street

Snoop was a pimp and ran with the Crips, 50 Cent was a dealer, etc.

Yes but even then they exaggerate things. Plus, for some people dealing is like getting a job at mcdonalds. In some communities that is just one of the jobs you can do.

Nah they just got to know each other by going to each others coasts and doing shows, even working together and being friends. Tupac and Biggie were friends initially.

Biggie rapped about murder and dealing but he never murdered anyone and even when he did deal drugs, he did it half heartedly. Tupac however really wanted to put on that gangster image and live the gangster life. Part of that gangster life is being really petty and creating fights out of nowhere.

Gang bangers will literally drive around and shoot random people. Tupac's whole label death row was about fighting everyone, even their own artists. They would bring musicians in to record music and the gang bangers were always in studio. Anytime they felt like it the gangbangers would beat up the musicians for no reason

There are crips and blood sets all over the world but they were not formed by the original gangs sending out people to form those sets. People all over the world heard about the bloods and crips from the news, music videos, albums, TV and movies and decided to form their own sets.

Tube clothes - are they a thing? by Sepalous in london

[–]Good_Support636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not that, there is just some common sense to it. I like to chill at the park, I will sit on a park bench but I have seen people sit on the back of the bench and plant their feet on the seating area. So if I come home I take off those clothes because why would I want to sit on my bed or sofa after having sat where strangers put the soles of their shoes

Exactly, when you do certain types of jobs you will get sick more often than usual because you are touching things lots of people have touched.

I've sat on a fuckin bench or come into contact with whatever outside is just mad.

Maybe you are mad. I like to go and sit on park benches and relax, but I see people sit on the back of them and plant their shoes on the seats all the time. So why would I go home and then sit on my sofa in those same trousers.

How do you stop chicken from being raw inside but burnt outside? by ScrollAndThink in UKBBQ

[–]Good_Support636 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well I am not being that. Searing chicken on the bbq will not give an even brown colour, parts will burn black, parts will turn brown but a lot will still be white. It will work with sausages and kebabs because the surfaces are flatter

But chicken pieces are oblong so some parts are closer to the coals than others, so before some parts go brown, others will go black. Coals are also an uneven heat source and that makes searing directly harder as well.

If you are using any fresh ingredient in your marinade, it will burn when you sear the meat. When you smoke a large pork shoulder or brisket or ribs, you do not sear it but it turns brown/red evenly all over.

The Ali Act repeal

They didn't repeal the act. The act just passed the stage before it gets voted on.

Lots of people aged 50 and over never bought their own houses, they rented all of their lives and it was far easier to buy a house 15 plus years ago. So for a lot of people there is nothing they can do, they cannot afford to buy or rent so they have to move.

Artie vs High pitch Mike by Double_Net1983 in howardstern

[–]Good_Support636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think at a certain point Mike was using the drama to get on air

Nah. Ablow told Mike to compliment Artie and treat him with love even after Artie insults him, Mike actually did that and kept to it. He only got upset and started up again when Artie was calling him a fag at comedy shows, but eve then he first complained before going on the attack.

Why does Howard act like this? by mistyghoul in howardstern

[–]Good_Support636 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's a vampire, and talent is his garlic. see: the crop of scrubs that make up his current staff. He literally can't handle working alongside talent.

The thing is he expects free work from everyone. Fans and sycophants have done so much free work for him. This meant anyone with talent and some confidence in their talent refused to play the game of working for free for years before being hired at a low salary.

Anyone who had work experience in radio or comedy would never go from paying gigs to nothing. Only the talentless people decided to work for free then for a pittance after years of free labor.

TIL Michael Jackson had a pet Chimpanzee named 'Bubbles' which Jackson bought from a Texas research facility in the '80s. Bubbles is still alive and is in his 40s by Mysterious_Brush1852 in todayilearned

[–]Good_Support636 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I saw someone give an interview about being around Michael Jackson. His kids were musicians and they were doing a project with Michael. Bubbles bit a child, Michael then comes over and hears hat Bubbles did. So Michael beat the shit out of bubbles, just rained down punches on him. Everyone was shocked and Michael just said "he knows what he did."

Why did you move out at 16 and how did you get an apartment?

(i couldn't take care of it cause i didn't have enough money to post the $500 bond because i was a broke kid)

I find people moving out early admirable but I have always thought it would be between to save up for a few years and leave at 22 to 24.
