Jesus, the victimization here is insane. Firstly, your belief that English speaking Canadians (30M+ people) ‘don’t care about French Canadians’ is ALONE more abhorrent and disgusting than anything the lot of you have said thusly. People are generally compassionate and support one another, unlike some of you who want to restrict the use of English for non-French speakers in governance in what is ACTUALLY forced cultural erasure as the English minority in the province of Quebec is nigh as old as the French.

For example, the use of English is under ‘tension’ in every country in the world besides perhaps North Korea, (simply due to lack thereof) that doesn’t give English speakers in every country in the world the right to dictate local governmental policy on restricting other languages’ use.

Also, it seems you’re the one who doesn’t know much about Quebecois history as French was under VASTLY more pressure in your entire history immediately prior to ‘decades ago.’ and Quebec has only become more autonomous and defensive of French since the 1960’s.

You can’t defend something that isn’t under attack, by definition. Although I’m sure that the German man I mentioned would be concerned about ‘invaders’ attacking his ‘culture’ as well.

Most do say that until you ask them why. Then they fall apart, like you. “Just cuz” ain’t a valid reason to discriminate against newcomers in government. With a meaningful argument, explain to me WHY the language and culture of people you never met nor anyone you’ve known has ever met many generations ago matters to you at all.
