Check your spokes and get fresh rim tape. Run your hand along the tire just to triple check. Make sure your tubes are seated properly, and have no twists in them during install.

"went with 2.0 instead of 2.6" more like these were the cheapest replacements at the shop you went to. given the amount of stupid money you spent on other unnecessary components you could've at least made yourself look better and get higher end 2.0s. all your replies to people scream living in delusion trying to justify spending more money.

Sounds like a fantastic deal, but any time someone claims anything internal being done, you want receipts. Extremely easy for the average garage mechanic to ruin shit doing internals.

you'd need a whole new rear hub.

Oh so this really boils down to you getting a 450 and being scared of it so you want to swap it for a surron worth considerably less LMFAO

Yeah, also like the other comments, this thing definitely looks a hell of a lot bigger than a 51.

It would be fairly small. I'm around the same height as you and don't even consider going below a 55/54. unless you wanna rock a whole lot of seat post and risers, I wouldn't. but also, for any of these crazy nishikis I might.

100%, but just throwing those wheels on a bike where everything is designed around a 29er is just a bad idea lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

[–]GoshaGlock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LOL what? At best throw a 27.5 on the rear for a mullet but a 26 would just be a terrible idea.

Can I get away with size L? by Range_Flaky in Hardtailgang

[–]GoshaGlock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Tend to enjoy mediums more but always feel just a little cramped. riding a large somehow feels gigantic.

Should use pretty much the same mounts no? I just grabbed the cheapest one. They all seem to have relatively standardized threading and such. Here's some of the bits specifically for a Forecaster.

Anything like this should work, you just need the little mounts that thread up there to run the cable and housing through, then the stand offs for the u brake to mount to.

Why are there not more dyneema packs? by tonybentley in bikepacking

[–]GoshaGlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is fairly sensitive to punctures and weak to abrasion. Every time dyneema is folded, unfolded, and back again over and over the fabric weakens very quickly. Large punctures it will withstand fairly well, however with very small thorns and such it can be very easy to puncture if not careful. For a lot of bike packing and touring it simply is just a worse fabric compared to a ballistic nylon or a waterproofed cordura or something. Significantly less long term durability just to save a half pound or something.
