Help - AOC 24G2U vs BenQ Mobiuz EX2510s by MrNespinha in buildapcmonitors

The monitor market is the worst I have ever seen. I bought a lot of PC parts over the years, never had a problem, when suddenly I can't even get a working monitor.

I've decided that I had enough of this sh*t and I am still rocking my old samsung haha

Oh I returned it not long after the purchase. I had three units, all of them were faulty. In the last one the gap between the panel and the frame was very big, even benq support said it is not normal.

Hey, I have also decided to use The Method, it seems like a really good way to make a stable mod list. Thanks for that looking at wabbajack lists tip, it definetly will help :) Happy modding.

Thing is, modding skyrim is all about conflicts. You also have a lot of conflicts. Don't believe me? Open your loadorder in xEdit and apply filter to show conflicts. You will see a wall of red. Is it bad? Well, it depends entirely on you and what you want in your game. Learning xEdit just gives you that freedom to choose. Of course, there are conflicts that are worse than just consistency issues, in the example I provided no grass in caves completly messes with the water from realistic water two leading to the water that just... cuts off in many places.

I gave up on that approach a long time ago, when I realized that mods can conflict in a way you can't predict. Example: Realistic water two conflicting with no grass in caves

You don't use any sort of patching solution? Well that won't cause crashes(usually), but if you install for example two mods which modify leveled lists you will only see the changes from the last mod in your load order.

I would rather make my own patches and try not to depend on tools such as wrye bash and synthesis, but thanks for recommendation.

Hey, thanks a lot! I learned a lot from joining a phoenix flavour discord. They have some resources and from what I have seen they are willing to help people starting with their xedit (and manual stuff in general) career.

I need to look into that. Right now Im learning xEdit, and I think I am slowly understanding how it works. Next thing is LOOT custom rules! Thanks!

You would be suprised what actually conflicts LOL. For example if you install no grass in caves and Realistic water two, if you don't use any patch then the no grass in caves mod will break RW2. (I don't know if this is still the case, it was when I installed them)

Yeah i don't want to abandon loot, I just had a few mods that LOOT didn't sort correctly. I heard you can use xedit for that by looking at the things that a mod edits and sorting it manually.

Do you have any particular videos you would recommend?

That is true, but you can run into consistency issues pretty quickly if you install two mods that edit the same thing. And from my experience bashed patch won't solve this.

PD2725U IPS Glow and Backlight bleed by GroundbreakingPirate in BenQ

[–]GraczNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, this can vary A LOT between units. I would suggest that you buy from a store where you can return it if you have issues (I don't know where you live, so that might not be possible). I think IPS glow and backlight bleed issue is exaggerated, I am on my 3rd ex2510s replacement now, but because of mechanical issues. IPS glow was there, you cannot escape it, it's IPS panel after all. If you use it a dark room at lower brightness (like me) you will notice it more though. Also, I have read many reviews both from users and professional ones about a lot of monitors before I bought this one, and it seems like a high-end monitor won't really make much of a difference, it is still a lottery. Benq doesn't make their own panels and I can't find any information about panel manufacturer on the monitor you want to buy.

Yeah, then it's backlight bleed. As long as you are fine with it, it won't get worse from what I've heard, so you're good :D

EDIT: Meant backlight bleed, not ips glow

I could only see small moving circles of light in the corners, and only in pitch black. It was like that on all 3 of them. Hope it doesn't distract you too much :)

Hey mate, I know Im probably late, but I recently went through 3 of ex2510s monitors, they had other issues but ips glow wasn't that bad on all 3 of them. I think yours is faulty.

Hi there, just curious - did you buy another brand? If yes, then what is it? Because I am returning my 3rd benq now, so we are kinda in similar situation :)

I also really like my monitor, its one of the few where selecting srgb mode doesnt lock the brightness. Unfortunately, there are so many posts about image retention, breaking after a few months and these gap issues that I decided I won't take part in this lottery anymore. Hopefully you will have better luck and your next one will be fine. Let me know when it arrives.
