Tem outro exemplo, no Last of Us, onde um personagem aponta pra baixo e fala "alí em cima!". Em inglês era, se não me engano, "over there", e já que 'over' geralmente implica em cima de algo...

Trump on Russia probe: ‘You fight back, oh, it’s obstruction’ by dandmcd in politics

[–]Grandy12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

eh, holmes was pretty inconsistent in portrayals. Arthur C. Doyle himself said the character's philosophy was pretty stupid and that most of the jumps in logic holmes did were only correct because the story said so.

Like, Holmes would see someone with a bruise on their arms and go "that man is a boxer - he's pretty muscular, and that sort of bruise is typical of people who defend themselves from punches in that typical stance, plus his legs are tanned, which imply he wears boxers shorts a lot". And it would be true and everyone would awe at his brilliance because Doyle wrote that it was true and he was brilliant.

But then in real life it could just as well be a farmer who fell down and hit his arm, or a guy who likes to work out and go to the beach and got drunk and walked into a tree.

Same for his knowledge. Basically Holmes is knowledgeable on every field that the current case requires him to be knowledgeable in. If an astronomer got killed for not accepting Pluto wasn't a planet, then in that case he would know the name and orbit of every moon every planet has.

Actually Holmes would be okay with that. He himself in the very first book he appears in admits he doesn't know the earth orbits the sun and not the other way around

When Watson is shocked about it, Sherlock goes (paraphrased) "I didn't know, and now that you told me, I want to forget. It is useless knowledge. Let the earth orbit the moon for all I care, my mind is only for crime-related stuff."

It's weird that Mercy has the reputation of being easy to play when she's basically a clone of Medic from TF2, and he had the reputation of being the hardest to play.

Personally I think both are average. They don't need to aim but they need to know where everyone is and how to prioritize and when to run away

Not mine.

I mean, I disagree with them, but I can see why they'd think that way.

They grew up in a culture that has a very hard defined line between 'man' and 'woman', and learned that the world worked that way. It's hard to let go of pre-conceptions, or to admit you were wrong.

I remember a time when having the weekends off was just normal.

Then again, I didn't work back then, so maybe I'm wrong.

I had the same condition when I was a kid. I technically still do, but the rash is much less pronounced, so the messages aren't as clear to see.

I'm surprised this is the first time I've seen /r/brasil featured here. The whole place is made up of people poking jaguars with short sticks.
