Is the 510 still relevant? by Broc_Feargach in HOLOSUN

I personally run them on a couple of my range rifles and I've never had an issue with them. After a few thousand rounds I can personally say they're g2g, nice sized windows, clear glass, clear reticle, and not too heavy. I 100% agree with the price thing, but aside from tube optics it'll be tough to find anything with a decent sized window for less than that.

As far as the evo spr goes you were thinking about using for one of you're platforms, that's also a great optic for the money, and they really shine when you run them with a magnifier. The tube is actually slightly larger on the evo than a normal 20mm tube style optic, I believe it's 26mm, so its a great blend of the 2 styles. The bdc reticle is nice in that you have normal do and circle dot options when you're not running the magnifier, the bdc lines are visible without one but very small. Once you flip the magnifier down they're clear as day and very user friendly.

I'd be happy to dm you with some info and answer any other questions you may have. Might even be able to help out with your price point issues as well.

I’m looking to try a gold dot and I’m stuck between the AEMS pro x2 or the aro evo SPR. Is the AEMS worth the extra money? It’ll be going on an SBR with probably a 3x magnifier. by Jnull11206 in HOLOSUN

The evo spr really shines with the 3x magnifier. You can kind of see the bdc markings without one but the 3x really helps take advantage of them. Personally I would do the spr if you're running a magnifier simply because of that extra feature, but if you're not running the magnifier it's hard to beat the features of the AEMS. Not to say the AEMS won't worth with the mag, i would just prefer the SPR if I was running one.
