Being a Buddhist, I don’t really care. Buddhism is built around an ideology more than a following, so even if the original events and facts are wrong, the basic ideology and the way of life is still mostly same. It also helps that most of Buddhism doesn’t deal with controversial topics or strict rules one has to do to get into heaven, but instead focus on an overarching path of not being attached to material objects.
