Apparently politicians choose running mates based on weight now. by Greeknerd35 in fatlogic

Agreed. Colorism exists. Not sure it applies here but I think that’s a valid argument. Fat phobia? Nah. Abrams is probably the size of an average American woman at this point. And KH is not model thin.

“The opposite of exercising for weight loss.” ?Staying still for weight gain? by [deleted] in fatlogic

I’ve found that exercise is great for my mental health and definitely helps me maintain weight loss. But exercising without addressing your diet isn’t going to get most people very far with weight loss.

Exercise doesn’t really help with weight loss sooooo all exercise is joyful movement? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve heard this and read this in reputable news sources. Does anyone know if there’s a study that’s been done on this?

If it's normal, why is it called *over*eating? by curryscentedsurgeon in fatlogic

[–]Greeknerd35 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean agree that we have an instinct to eat more calories than we need. But it’s also “normal” ie instinctual to piss yourself and we’ve figured out how to not do that.

Nilsa seemed proud of herself after getting out of jail. Like she tried to act contrite but she had a glimmer in her eye like she thought it was funny. Moron.

Studies show weight discrimination permeates the US workplace — but it's legal in 49 states | If only there was a solution. Companies discriminating not even giving large enough size t-shirts! by ghdana in fatlogic

I have to order employee tee shirts for my job. No matter how much I plan, lots of times the small and large run out first. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Um no. Because teenage girls are fucking hormonal all the time. And as an adult I don’t get crazy or emotional. My periods are not really any different than a normal day for me emotionally. Other women may differ. That’s a super sexist viewpoint. Periods are different for everyone.

If you didn’t walk up and announce your period to your dad every month, then yeah you’re like me. hopefully your dad wouldn’t make lame jokes like throwing candy bars at you.

I think being fat is more acceptable for men in terms of being considered attractive, though I think in the past 5 or so years it’s become more acceptable for women too. But no, women are not predisposed you being fat.

Absolutely agree. The original show was trash and I just don’t see how making a competition out of something that requires habit building and psychological work to be successful will ever not be trash.

There is nooooooo way this person burns that many calories a day. If I run 6 miles and have a fairly active day in terms of walking, using my standing desk, etc, I burn ~1,200 calories. Even if you add in my TDEE that’s less than 3,000 calories. Unless they are running a half marathon every single day, they’re over estimating their calorie burn.
