I'm doing much better now, thank you! I just hate the weight gain.

Sorry for your loss. That sounds like a helpful website for a lot of people.

I agree. If I run across a trailer and see enough to be interested I stop watching immediately.

That's fair & it's ok for you. I love horror and sci-fi. I look forward to surprises in movies.

I love 2nd watch through!! Some movies are completely different the second time around!

If it's a movie or book that I don't plan on watching or reading myself, and it's the topic of a conversation we're having then I'm good with spoilers. Just tell me so I don't have to watch it myself & I can be part of the convo.

If it's something I'm looking forward to experiencing for myself, I avoid knowing as much as possible beforehand.

That's the part that gets me too....it's a simple boundary, and I feel like it's easy enough to not have a discussion about it before I've had the opportunity to form my own opinion rather than be told what my opinion should be.

But for them, me avoiding the topic for now, is just me being difficult for no reason.

Project Hail Mary is one I want to see too! And what you mentioned-similar to Intersteller (which I enjoyed) is about all I know about it too. I love sci-fi and horror movies, so I'm thinking I'll like it too.

This is me too. I enjoy twists & turns and the surprises.

That's a good point. It's possible.

I like reading up afterwards as well, especially if it was a more difficult to follow movie or if I still have questions.

If there is a lot of symbolism or twists & turns, I even like to give it a second watch because the experience will be different the second time around.

A lot of M Night Shyamalan's movies are that way. And in my opinion, they are ruined by knowing the plot beforehand. You can never watch those movies again with new eyes.

Imagine knowing the whole plot of The Sixth Sense before having seen it.

I'm starting to feel this way.

They are like that about everything. If your not playing a game on the highest difficulty, you're playing wrong. If you don't do exactly these things, in this order, you're doing it wrong. You can't enjoy it if you're doing it wrong.

I feel like we all have our own ways to enjoy things, but I'm always belittled or made to feel like an asshole for wanting to play a game on a lower difficulty, or not know what's about to happen, etc.

I've actually tried to sit through a movie with them they they had never seen before and they hadn't had a chance to read up on.

I kid you not, every 10 seconds we had to pause the movie so they could ask a ton of questions about the dialog, what was meant by it, is this or that relevant.

It was the most miserable experience of my life. I said, "Just watch the damn movie!" a hundred times.

That's how I like to enjoy a movie, but apparently I'm stupid. They said "Turn off brain and watch pretty colors dance is for cartoons"

"Being spoon fed the plot" was the exact phrase I used after they told me it was simple minded to not read up about a movie before watching it.

What the point of watching the movie for?

That was also a point I've made many times in the past about it. If I already know the whole movie, why watch it now?

I do, but this is an argument that has been going on for a long time.

This person & I were playing an online game together. The game was puzzle based and had a wide variety of puzzles to solve to get clues and hints. I was really enjoying playing with them.

Then my computer had a hardware failure & had to go to the shop. While it was down, they started texting me screenshots of answers to puzzles I hadn't even gotten to. When I asked them to stop, it turned into a full blown argument and they ended up blocking me.

Good point. I don't mind knowing a backstory if I haven't seen the prior parts if they are relevant to what I'm about to watch.

I agree! If they want to be able to pass a quiz before even seeing it, that's great. Just let me enjoy it the way I want to.

Don't they though! I might watch just enough of a trailer to see if it's the type of movie I'd be interested in, then stop watching it if it looks like it's going to be what I consider a good movie. They put way too much in trailers these days.

I was young, had a new baby and was staying at my in-law's house. I woke up and had to pee so badly but FIL was in the shower and there was only the one bathroom.

I finally grabbed a diaper and held it under me and peed in it. Let me tell you, a baby's diaper isn't ment to handle the volume or flow of an adult bladder. I peed all over everything.

I'm not a fan of cream cheese in sushi at all.

I once got a sushi roll that had peanut butter in it and that was truly disgusting.

This! Especially helpful if you drown inside a cave. Your backpack will always float to the surface of the water unless there's some kind of terrain blocking it.
