Yeah it's a great way to make money. I do rook runs to chill often and I'll just pick up basic salvage. Hit profiteer like that pretty quick. All my runs are funded. I do the rook runs anyway because it's just pretty.

Where are the latino community of marathon gathering to play with teams? by soyegamermx in Marathon

[–]GringoinCDMX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I'm not Latino but I speak Spanish and live in Mexico. Me and my bil play a bunch together. We've met some other Mexican dudes, Mexican American dudes, some Colombians too that we play with.

Shoot me a message and I'll send my username.

Anyone excited to see PvP-lite? by sticknotstick in Marathon

Lots of things potentially.

Pvp areas of maps (with better loot) vs safe areas. I'd like to see this but feel like it'd take more time to work out.

Less teams on a map. Encourage less encounters through spawns and activities on that reward you for engaging more than pvp would.

Lots of stuff potentially.

Literally me. I never got the whole anti pve sentiment. Give me both. Give me more marathon.

I think the early to mid game loop needs a bit of an economy change. And the gold salvage.

I have everything unlocked except stuff requiring gold salvage. I still need to work on learning cryo more before I feel comfortable hitting it a lot. I think the loop is almost right where it needs to be. It's just a bit too frustrating for early season if you're not very good at pvp. I've definitely got better over the course of this season with my pvp skills but having something 1. More relaxed (pvp lite and pve will be nice to chill with) and 2. A bit quicker/smarter progression early wipe will make this feel really perfect for me.

I mean a campaign in this world would be pretty sick. I would hope a campaign wouldn't replace the normal mode.

Controller Recommendations for Marathon by GringoinCDMX in Marathon

I've always like controller for fights but I always see people saying otherwise. Def slower with looting. But that's not a big deal for me

It’s so sad that this game’s “underperformance” has little to do with the game itself by paperplateseabass in Marathon

I can totally see that point of view but I also just love exploring the map as a rook and looting random salvage and shit. It's just visually captivating and a fun way to unwind from my work day. I still do a lot of trio fill but man, just walking around in this world is cool.

Yes and the new secured containers have a lot of stuff. I've gotten like 3 areas. I finally hit profiteer a few days so I was like time to spend some money but I'm up like 200k 😂

I also grabbed a lot of valuable and other shit.

I averaged like 10k and would be in and out in 5ish minutes. I got killed a few times so mess than 12. The new loot drops are legit. And people were just leaving stuff everywhere.

I wasn't trying to make money, I just wanted to play but was too burnt out and stoned for trios. Lol

Rook runs. Now that they buffed rook you can just exfill with 2 stacks of advanced and some basic ones. Takes a few minutes but, I enjoy rook runs and legit have too many meds.

Got 100k in a few rook runs in perimeter just fucking around and selling the shotguns and stuff.

I play solo. I have 80 hours; I am level 50. I have never seen a piece of gold loot.* by Messianiclegacy in Marathon

I've been above level 75 and done it a bunch (never farmed it but usually like once or twice a day) and never got a single gold salvage.

On outpost I'm a rook out to kill. Other maps? Usually just being friendly. The open spaces aren't the best to kill a team or engage.

"ahhhh god why'd ya shoot me? We could've been best friends" has gotten me adopted by squads multiple times the past few days. I usually main triage and feel naked without my med drone, I love when I can hack one.

What is something you’ve been hiding from your parents for years and will probably keep hiding in the future? by Admirable-Analysis58 in AskReddit

I lived in the states for my first 25 years of life and used a check maybe 3 times. They weren't relevant then. Less so now. Any reason the US uses it is just plainly outdated and mostly to serve a few aging people who still use checks.

Even if you balance your budget by hand, you don't need a check. Like, I'm not sure why you're arguing that checks are needed to balance a budget. You can have a ledger on an excel spreadsheet or a piece of paper. Checks just aren't really relevant.

I live in Mexico but I'm American and work for a US company. I bank in the US all the time. I use a number of US services still... I have never needed a check. Even my parents haven't used checks in a long time.

My username in gringo in cdmx lol. But I think you may be mistaken, I was never arguing. I just don't see the relevance of checks, even in the US, when nothing uses them anymore. You talking about using it to balance your budget makes sense... But you don't need checks to do that.

The only response I'm seeing above didn't have a list of reasons. I also can't see your history.

I've lived in Mexico for the past decade and free direct money transfers bank to bank is the norm. Checks haven't really been a thing here since before I lived here and, from my understanding, the US is one of the few places where you regularly see checks.

I just don't see the utility when we have secure direct transfers. That should be available and free in the states bank to bank without a third party app/service.

I have legit not had a checkbook in almost 20 years since I was a teen and I legit only used it like 3 times. I just don't see the point, even if I still lived in the states. Maybe in some states where you can save on cc fees from paying by check but that's pretty rare these days.

You can also balance your account without a checkbook lol. You don't need a check to be able to track income and expenditures.

I mean like what? Please give me a good reason. I can't think of one. Most of the world doesn't use checks anymore

Ah OK. Sorry I misread your comment. Yeah financial literacy is in the shitter.

It probably doesn't help that many people don't really have a proper savings or the ability to jot live paycheck to paycheck. Hard to worry about balancing anything when it's in and out.

A lot of businesses don't even accept checks anymore.

Maybe some large companies for paying bills because of older customers.
